355/360

We have both cars out fairly often and I've racked up a heap of K's in each. The 355 is a manual and it's a very satisfying drive, much more tactile and raw. Our 360 is an F1 - up in the revs the changes are really aggressive, nothing at all like the 'preparation' you get when manually changing. For day to day driving visibility is about the same out of each, with the 360 feeling much larger inside, and having better ground clearance. With the same calibre of driver the 360 is quicker round the same track every time. The 360 feels noticably more responsive and its a more highly strung package. If for whatever reason you are going to add performance parts to the car the 360 has a huge inventory of go-faster bits available. Most of the pain-in-the-butt problems for both cars seem to have a solution, and usually an aftermarket provider with a fix.

Car guys gravitate to the 355, joe public is all over the 360.

The sticky aircon panels / controls are a pain in the 355 - getting one that's well sorted saves a lot of effort. Cheap carbon overlays and other bits are a cr@ppy fix - have been waiting moooonths for a full carbon replacement. The 360 is starting to show a few signs of the same - odd places like the steering wheel adjustment and the rubber at the bottom of the A pillars. Replacing the headers on the 355 seems to be pretty much a given over time if they haven't already been done.

Certainly seems like the 355's are pretty stable pricewise now, where the 360's probably have a bit to go to hit the bottom of the curve. They are really different cars to drive and to live with though, so best to get some seat time before such a big decision.

this is so true.

 

My vote for what little it counts is for the 360.Never really liked the 355,except maybe the challenge for it's rarity

 

heres my view

355 will be the better long term keeper
355 definately was the last "ferrari" looking car
355 possibly better buying now (because its probably nearing the bottom of its depreciation)

so logic would say the 355 is the one to buy

but for my money i would still buy a 360, it just looks like a modern dino to me and thats just great

 

decisions decisions............seat time is definitely a good idea, as said before not driven a 360, nearer the time i think. In UK late Sept at present. Cheers again
