..................... if I ever bought a 360 I would redesign the body and give it half a chance to be as good looking as a 355!!!!

When the 360 came out I didnt care for it much. I loved the 355 and still do today. However, it is starting to show its age while the 360 has now become the stock ferrari shape and it really has become a beautiful car as a result. Stick on a set of 430 wheels and its looks are to die for. Could have bought a 355, but bought the modena instead.

Not forgetting that the 360 is now to a ten year old design;) Though the 360 may never gain the classic status that the 355 has, even though the 360 is a great car. I think because there are to many and they and the shape seem a very common in a Ferrari.

This is a great point and excatly the way I feel. I changed everything out on my last major including cv boots, all ps hoses, water pump, coolant hoses, plug wires, Tubi headers and repainted the valve covers. I went down to the shop every day and after hrs just to clean that block... I still haven't recovered from inhaling all of that lacquer thinner! It just gives you an air of confidence knowing that everything has had an eyeball on it and is sorted.
As far as the 360, I think the convert. looks amazing. And Jetfxr is right about the comfort and cockpit quality. But I do not think that the 360 (or 430) 'screams' or 'sings'. Pathetic sound compared to a 355.

Agree...but love the stock 360 wheels. If I could have found the right 355B, I would have bought it.
My current 360 came up for sale while I was looking for a 355. Was perfect spec'd for me, so travelled 1000km to have a look and bought it. First 360 I had ever looked at! Felt good with the car/owner and am very happy with the 360.
Both are great cars with different good and bad points.
When drving with mates in 360's and 355's everyone has a blast, that's the main thing.
Of course you will different opinins depending on which thread your in, too!!

From someone who's owned both, I think that the 360 is quite a bit less expensive to operate. The 355 had emission issues, cats needed replacement, header problems, you name it. The 360 had some issues, but less, and don't let anyone kid you, real world, quite a bit faster. Handled better, had more room, was quieter, you name it, better in every respect. I love the design of the 355, too bad they can't drive a new car under the body.

The 355 issues are all very addressable...... it also has the potential to be upgraded to 360 power. ;) ................ if it is the last thing I do............... I will get my 355 to perform as well as it looks....... :D :D :D

The 360 is roomier, more comfortable and quieter .................... all the great reasons to get an f-car right....... ???

    I completely agree.

The 355 is far and away the more exotic of the two.

Give me my 355 any day over the jellybean!!!!:D

I was in our local Ferrari dealer today, they have just sold a 360 for less than what the 355's are selling for, my instant response was "I'm not surprised, if i owned a 360 i would trade up to the 355 in a heart beat!" The salesman looked a little puzzled, the conversation turned to comparisons and when i was offered the fictional idea of a 360 being the same price as a 348, which would you drive out the door in?

I choose the 348, my reasoning is that a 348 is more what i expect when i drive a Ferrari, the 360 makes more sense, would probably be more reliable and has more room for the driver and passenger and blah blah, but these are sensible reasons to buy, when it comes to a Ferrari it really is not about making a sensible decision, it is a decision made with passion and your heart. ;)

I want to buy the turbo kit..........I'm not joking either.........

The 355 is anemic to say the least.........Love the car but it is a dog.........

Who sells it? I know there is a thread on this somewhere.

Anemic? Maybe not the fastest car on the road, but I have trouble fully opening the taps on public roads. Even a 328 is not a "dog". Sorry, but if you have ideas of turbo-ing a 355 I think you are missing the point.

The biggest crime would be putting AHYTHING in the way of the exhaust note!!

Unfortunately it is VERY anemic.....Not to rub salt in the wound but the 355 has one hell of a time gaining any ground on my Quattroporte which weighs a 1000lbs more.....A buddy of mine has a new BMW335XI and I promise you that you'll have a heck of a time beating that too....I tried, won but not by much....It was scary to say the least.

With that said yes I love the exhaust note but somewhere there is a video of the 355 turbo and it sounds no different. Actually sounds better IMO

Of course, that does not make it pure (turbo) but honestly I do not care anymore. I'm tired of paying all of this money to get stomped on the highway by a "flexible flyer" aka vette.....

Bragging rights are one thing but when it comes to "true" performance purely as a drivers car it is dated in the handling area too.......It only seems logical to me that for under 100K you could have a 355 with to die for looks and 600HP...What's not to love about that??? :) :)

Again, I love the car and will always have one....I just choose to go fast and yes I use every bit of that throttle....I didn't buy either one to putt around and flash my shields.....

I guess everyone likes cars for different reasons......After selling the Lotus I guess I just miss all of the BRUTAL HP......

    Sorry for the rant

The weasel just needs some nitrous I guess........

The individual that bought my modded Lotus (25thed on Fchat) sent me this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYRQbvwaAW4

Keep in mind that his E55 AMG has been in the 11's in the quarter it too is highly modded----This will make you understand my withdrawal symptoms..............

I can attest to the power of Jetfixrs Lotus... great acceleration then................the turbo boost starts coming on............and mashes you against the seat. Unbelievably fast for a street car. Kind of sneaky fast, because the turbo boost comes on smooth and just builds. And this coming from a guy that has built ALOT of high horsepower engines and driven alot of very fast race/ street cars. The Lotus was one of the most fun cars to drive on the street.

Since version 5 .... Vettes don't flex anymore but the 355 sure does. The 348 is worse! Yesterday I just passed on a 360C for 60k because corvette has spoiled me. I'm in the middle of my rollcage weld on my Z06 for racing but I dropped everything and hooked up my trailer and grabbed my checkbook when I heard 60 grand! But can you imagine my stock Z06 with rubber suspension bushings and 700 more lbs is faster than a challenge car? Then you dump the vette interior put fat roll bars on and sticky tires and no 360C can get near you and would still have power windows, A/C and a stereo in the vette. I spent about an hour with the 360 owner going over everything trying to justify to my self why I should by this 360 for my next race car. It even had gt front an rear bumpers...I could not pull the trigger. I love ferraris but more and more they are becoming to me like having the most beautiful girl in the world with the raunchiest bad breath. If you love the bodies buy the ferraris. If you love performance which included reliability look elsewhere.

There is always someone faster. Vettes, Cobras & 911's are a dime a dozen. The 355 IS fast...period. If you want to be a boy racer get your American muscle and look like every other idiot at a red light revving the gas peddle. My buddies' 911 Turbo, with upgraded chip is faster but which car do you think is more popular with people?

Actually I was just being funny about the flexible flyer comment. But in reality I assumed that it had been fixed. I was looking at a C6 2 weeks ago to drive daily and quite frankly it just did not grab me at all. It still felt "plasticky" and cheesy for a reason I could not put my finger on. As a race car I'm sure it's a really great platform but the disappointment on the street comes from pulling up to a light and there is another one right beside you.

I actually assumed the C6 was stiffer. It still actually has the classic "cowl shake" not as bad but it did twist and you could feel it. It wasn't as bad as the 92 I had but it was still there. Granted I do not track cars but for the street I didn't feel it was anything special and certainly not "advanced". GM has always been a follower never a leader. When they made such a big deal about correct balance in placing the tranny in the rear and engine in front on a C5 I laughed remembering Porsche did that with the 928 in the early 70's......GM is getting there act together slowly, simply because they are getting smashed and really need to.

Other than that the car deserves respect for what it is. Respectable power, reliable, and in conclusion cheap.
I understand why you like it I'm a little put out with Ferrari reliability too.......It's worth it though to hear and see that prancing horse IMO........

I just want TURBOS on the 355!!!!....Maybe I'll call Dr. ENGINEFIXR and see what he can do to solve this problem :)

If you want to increase power in your 355 but be able to un-bolt it in case you need to bring the car back to stock
you should consider a super charger instead of a turbo. You won't gain as much power but you also won't have any
turbo lag. I am not interested in any such mods on my 355, I do those on my 1995 911 which I primarily use on the race track :)

I hear you 100%. I drive a truck 99% of the time never a streetcar. I've had the Z06 since 2004 and love it so much I never drove it. So now it is a racecar and it will get some use. So I hear your comments exactly. I'm still gunning for a 355 for a trackcar. I will not be as fast as the vette but you are right the ferrari does things on the track that no other girlfriend will do. I have never has such a reliable ferrari until I started racing them. When they are just a motor and a chassis they are amazing and cheap to run. And I know about Ferrari reliability I had a mondial cabriolet! The 355 is a heavy pig. Drop out some weight put sticky tires on it and a challenge exhaust and go have some track fun. Send the motor to enginefixr for some track worthy massage. Buy the 360 to take your girlfriend out to the theatre. That's the best way to enjoy 2 ferraris one for show and one for go.
