    Hi:

    Would like to spend more of this saturday inside my 355 rather tehn underneath it!@ Anybody have any tips for on car regulator/rectifier replacement?

    You will need a sharp, fresh 1/4 drive, 7mm, 6 point socket. I prefer snap-on, but others can be modified to reduce the bevel at the "mouth" of the socket.

    Don't even start the job without the correct tools. If you endeavor too long attempting to loosen the bolts, you will round them off, and then they will be difficult to remove even with the alternator on the workbench.
