Take it back to it's original green. In my opinion a beautiful rare colour and looks so good with the tan interior.

Looks like an impressive and meticulous job.

I'd love to know how he got all the paint off so comprehensively, was it chemicals or simply an abrasive job?

Also, do you know how he's tackling the mat black sections in the engine & luggage compartments and in the door shuts? The original Ferrari paint job does not seem to have been masked because the mat sections don't have straight edges. Do you know how he's planning to tackle those bits?

    Anyway, it's great work.

    Bob.

I know some folks may think I'm mad for saying this, but I have to admit it does look a pretty lovely combo to me in the photos, the verdi/tan that is, good rare, rather than shocking and understandably rare if you know what I mean.

When will you know what colour it will be and what's the deciding factors?

I had Le Mans Blue and Tan, that was a great colour as it was lovely and rich but like most of these it does depend on the lighting wherever you are in the world, you never see white in the UK, well rarely, but likely suits california etc...the original photos you showed though looked to really suit it to me. Will be interesting to see if folks go for safe, original or...

I have no doubt it will look stunning though when finished as it looks to be a really thorough job so far. If you don't mind me asking, what will be the ballpark cost of the job and expected man hours for it?

My wallet and head keeps telling me it's ok that i sold my 355 but I have to agree, you can't help but stare at their most simple and beautiful lines, even the wheels to me compliment it so perfectly...from any angle, simply stunning. Looking fwd to the finished and fully mopped result in all it's showroom glory :)

Fantastic photos--please keep documenting and posting.

It's great to see one laid bare like that. Elegant, in a raw sort of way.

The paint is sanded off with an orbital sander & 80 grade discs as Al won't use chemical strippers as they are highly corrossive and any residue needs to be washed off with water (not a good combination - Italian steel & water)
The satin black areas are all going to be sanded back, but I Al is keeping the car in one piece whilst the panelbeating, filling & shaping is done to make sure the gaps & levels are all spot on. Then the doors, engine lid, boot & lamp assemblies will come off & final prep & prime.

Ballpark figure could be anywhere between £2500 & £5000.
