So is anyone going tomorrow morning? I'll try and swing by if I'm awake.
Thanks for the perfect morning Gentlemen. Great conversation, great cars, and just a lot of fun. Can't wait for next weekend, a few more guys, and a cruise route. I know of 3 more that plan on it for 7/5, and 3 more that have expressed interest. Special thanks to Peter for the venue. Attendees on 6/28 included in no particular order Market mover Traimpz348 JMeisinger and Bill Uconn Huskey Dipstick1 Icantdrv55 Jima and yours truely
Yeah it was a good time. Thanks Pete for the coffee and donuts. It was great meeting everyone and I hope to see you next weekend.
Great to meet you guys, and thanks to Pete for the hospitality and shop tour...I can look at bare Ferrari's all day Here's a link explaining why mine wasn't there: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181966 With some hard work, a little luck, and on-time delivery from a vendor I may be able to get mine to F40 next week. I need the 355 to run, the Firebird didn't sound too healthy on the way home (but at least I made it home!)
Great to see all of you this morning. Can't wait till next weekend... hopefully the weather next week is just as good. Pete, thanks for the coffee and donuts. It is amazing to walk around the shop and look at all the cars in various stages of restoration. Gives me the motivation to start my "to do" list for this coming winter "off season" work.
That was certainly the best part of my Saturday, it was great to meet all of you. I felt like a little kid walking around Peter's shop, I am looking forward to more meets through the summer.
Pete -- many thanks for hosting the first of what will hopefully become a fairly regular event here in central CT! We'll have to find a few venues to rotate through so you don't get saddled with it ALL the time Plus it will keep the journey interesting... It was great meeting you all -- I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer; had family stuff to attend to (graduation party) but was happy I could make it out for a little while... I plan to be out next weekend as well. Jay -- re: your engine out major -- Wow! What a fantastic project! Your attention to detail is going to guarantee a great outcome and a car you'll be happy with for a long time.
Oh no I missed this?! The NE forum has been so dead lately that I haven't even been checking it. Not that I could've contributed to the group with a ferrari but I would've been happy to tag along in the passat haha.
Oh but next weekend sounds so far away knowing I could've been cruising around with a bunch of f-cars yesterday I'll keep an eye on the thread now.
Thanks Lane for getting the ball rollin, It was great to meet some new people, and put some face's on Fchat members and of course to share our common passion of the wonderful F cars. I was happy to host the venue and appreciate the turn out. I look forward to this saturday
It's going to be close...got the front brakes on, need more fluid for bleeding. ECU connected, hose clamps on the radiator lines...just need a new vacuum line that was a casualty of the engine reinstall. Driving by Sat still seems do-able...
Time to talk about this weekend. I'm going to bring my laptop and map software to develope a "course" for a cruize at some future meet. We should also talk about alternative meeting spots and things to do (cruises, BBQ's, events, etc)...we don't want to wear out our welcome at F40. Weather looks like it always is...chance of t-storms. Peter has welcomed us for 8:00 to 11:00am on Saturday 7/5. Who's in? 1) Saint Bastage (Closer to 8:30)
same here, weather permitting I'll be there by 8:30 or 9, still trying to get the 355 roadworthy in time...
Well, no chance of my Ferrari making this meet. Finalizing the engine reinstall and have major coolant leakage, seems to be from the heater line somewhere behind the firewall. Seems that everything up until now was easy...
The weather radar could clear up for a portion of the morning. If the roads can dry a bit within the next couple of hours, I'm in. I have heard that they melt in the rain and I'm not taking any chances... D
