Wow! The image of driving with the top down and listening to the music of the flat crank V8 is intoxicating!

I put my name on the list nearly two years ago, when it was a Dino.

Looks like a good daily driver. Best of both worlds with the top.

Stepping up to a 430 or replacement is a convincing upgrade.

Trading in a Turbo for a California?? I'm not certain this is an upgrade.

Just added my name to the list. By the time this comes in I'll be tired of my new M3 and will be needing another daily driver!

My understanding is that 2009 is basically sold out (maybe 2000 cars worldwide) and that actual customers (as opposed to flippers or multiple repeats etc) would be looking at Q1 2010 earliest for a deposit not yet placed - I should say that allocations are unlikely to be fixed til the Autumn after the launch which appears to be scheduled for the Paris Show - in fact I wonder if there will be a US launch at (for example) Detroit Show 2009 which would imply no US customer cars til then

New models are usually introduced in Europe several months before they are sold here in the USA. If initial production is at 2,000 cars for the first year then the US might get 600. I think we account for 30-35% of production.

After the first year or two, Ferrari will want to hit the 3,500 to 4,000/yr target, so long as the demand exists.

If Ferrari has designed a great car then they could sell 4,000/yr with waiting lists just like they were able to do with the 360.

If it is a really hot car, like the F430, then they could sell even more. I think Ferrari is selling over 5,000/yr F430's a year.

They really aren't selling many 612's and somehow even with the upgrades due in September I don't see that changing much.

On the other hand, 599's are still in short supply even with the huge price tag! And it seems that they could more than make up for the slack of the 612's by offering a convertible 599.

But when you think of the number of cars sold in the world each year, the Ferrari's planned volume increase from 6,500 to 10,000 is nothing.

Or maybe it is simply amazing, compare it to GM which has gone from 17 million to 10 million in only a few years!

ya i guess it seems that most of the people who have deposits are in other areas besides the US...but there seem to be a few people who have had deposits that were accepted...who knows...i just want to make sure i m not being misinformed....well that and i want to make sure i am all over this when they accept deposits...

I'd go black, with tan and black daytona seats, and maybe give it a miami vice daytona-replica look-alike :)

I'm thinking of the Azzurro California, i think it suits perfectly this kind of car.
It's habitat is Palm Beach or the "Cote D'azur" for the europeans ;)
But i'm not sure about the interior....the "cream" one seems too light to me.
