Friend from Shanghai was nice enough to come out early and take a few nice shots of the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Taste is funny and very personal. I now hate the monobloc wheels (sometimes referred to as Challenge) even though I had them on my first 599. I love the standard star wheels which I had on my second 599. I think these Novotecs look pretty sweet but still prefer the standard. I like the Novotec a lot more than the Challenge. To me the Challenge are very 2004 CS. That is an era from the past. Feel the same about Rosso Scuderia
Agree on the "Challenge" wheels.. Just too boring since they have been out for a while now. If the original star wheels came in 20"/20" i think they would have looked a lot better. In terms of Aftermarket wheels i do think these novitec NF3's are one of the best choices, very simple looking yet aggressive enough to suit the car. Some of the other wheels ive seen especially in HK are quite insane, I did see a 360 the other day with wheels which resembled a spiderweb!
Very nice red/red 599, especially the interior. The Novitecs are nice, would look better if the wheels are more set in (deep dish). One great example of a modded Ferrari in HK. Agree that it is very hard to find nicely modded Ferraris here, those insane ones are really hard to comprehend.
but actually this cheap rims fits perfectly to this misdesigned vehicle. why the airoutlet on the dashboard looks like frog eyes??
I don't mind the 19" fronts on the standard wheels. Higher profile fronts are better suited for road use. I had both my 599's up to slightly above the speed limit (one with 20" fronts and one with standard 19" fronts) and noticed no difference in handling but I noticed that the 19's were far better on less than perfect roads
Rims maybe not so cheap, I must be a misdesigned customer because I found the 599 to be a pretty well designed piece of kit and I never thought of frog eyes when looking at my dash
Oh yes, i found the car to be amazingly comfortable with the stock wheels/tires on, almost to a point i was astonished! The 599 is much more forgiving on HK roads then even the Granturismo. Luckily the Novitec setup hasn't given the car a harsh ride, it is much more stable now but over the worst surfaces there is a difference in ride quality.
NIce pics! HREs aren't cheap but it does compliment the 599 & a pretty safe design. But I don't know about the red on red cabin. Must experience it 1st hand to get a feel....
I am thinking more about China where we drive a lot faster and the roads can have some surprises!!! HK is a piece of cake for a 599 with any wheels at speeds that will keep you out of jail
Harsh my friend! At least you didn't say butt ugly pentagram wheels. I thought they looked fantastic on my silver 599 even when I ran out of gas in China, had to coast 3kms down a mountain and get pushed the last 20 metres to the pump Image Unavailable, Please Login
Your old silver 599 really looks amazing, haven't yet seen a silver 599 on the road mostly Scuderia, Rosso, Nero Daytona and the press color which looks like a candy apple red, I forgot the name of that color.
Rosso Monza. Nice one Jon.. I may be late in coming to the comments but I for one am an advocate of the Novitec wheels.. I believe the Novitecs' 5 spoke (or Twin Five Spokes..) design is spot on for the current crop of Fcars. Some say more 'lip' will make the wheels look better but IMHO 'lips' are yesterday's news. Current cars are curvy and amorphic ('blob' design says some..) and the 'softline' wheel types compliments the design language. Non Modular 'standard' Novitecs would look better on the 599 IMVHO, complimenting the clean amorphic look..then again I understand that they don't make those in 21" and even if they did, the spokes would be too long-ish proportion-wise and the car'd end up looking like having 'Matchbox/Majorette/Corgi ' wheels... Note : It will never look 'pentagram-ish' because to qualify for that word the ends of each twin five spokes need to be joined culminating in a 5-pointed Star....sad huh? The NF3/Novitec series is not eligible to join the Warlock/witches society...
I actually saw these customs wheels on the exoticspotter.com they looks pretty good on the 599 as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
