Where is the line drawn between replica and real? I would imagine someone owning a car that pretends to be something it isn't also might have a fake watch, fake tan, girlfriend with fake boobs and surgery, mobile home with a rock plaster façade, a made up resume… it goes on and on. Where do you draw the line?

Yes, we ALL realize it. Yes, money and time. Yes, nasty ass Chevy Motors. And guess what? Yes, 219 MPH! Wow....

That's beside the point. Not a bad point, mind you, but beside the point. I'd rather go slower in a "real" Lambo/F-Car than faster in a fake. My own humle opinion is that if you can make a Fiero go that fast - go for it but please keep it a Fiero. If your concern is performance numbers, then concentrate on those numbers and not making it look like something it's not.

This reminds me of a story:

When I was a young man I would visit my uncles farm in the southern part of the country every summer. I'd stay for weeks and just meander around. Thrilled to be out and free to roam with vastness and adventure at my beckon call.

One day after much thought, an idea struck me. Across the outlaying pastures and hillsides were an array of building materials. I was certain no one would miss a few pieces if they disappeared for a spectacular project.

I collected a large selection and started to work on my vision. By the end of the 5th day I had finished my artistic endeavor. There standing (almost as tall as the original) was a hand sculpted statue of "David" like the famed art of Michelangelo. Formed from hundreds of equine droppings hand picked from the farm by me alone.

I now stood there to admire it, basking with its bronze like color in the warm summer sun. Suddenly my uncle walked up and asked "what the hell is that"?
I told him of the idea and the effort to create my statue. Build it and they will come I thought?

He calmly explained to me, regardless of how I sculpted, shaped or polished, "it was still just a pile of horse dung no matter what I did to it".
Disheartened at the time, I later came to understand the wisdom of his words. Dung is the sign of a healthy horse. Not a bad thing but still just dung.

There is only one statue of "David" and anything else is? Well, something else.

I'm not sure why this came back to me while reading of a long wheelbase Fiero replicar. It just sounded like the right moment to share a story of misspent time as a youth.

    All the best.

If for one minute you thought any of this was true?
You might have a Fiero based exotic car in your future......

That would pretty much equate to a "replica" life. :)

If all we cared about were performance figures for a street car, we'd all drive Nobles, you would too, it has a Chevy engine so you could impress the chicks at the local Napa parts store. I don't think you get it, you never will and I still fail to see why you frequent Lamborghini forums.
