I have been able to find quite a number of Nero (non-metallic) cars. All but two are higher miles that look a bit worn.
Those two may be the winners although I am worried about keeping black clean as opposed to blue or silver.

Couple of silver cars. Only one of which looks very nice.

    Zero blue out there.

Many, MANY, red ones. Many are also in great condition.

Can you guys post some grigio 328's on this post. Is that a super rare color or are there a number out there? I am hoping for examples on top of tillman's car. What is the consensus on the grigio? Any out there for sale? What 328's do you guys see at your local shops for sale?

    Thanks.

tillman, thanks for the shots of the duo. I have officially added grigio to the mix.

Jon, I am glued to the 328 threads and enjoy soaking it all in. Thanks for all the help.

What did you think of the silver car in LA?

Tillman, any other grigio for sale our there?

I found one very nice example in black that has been resprayed on a corner. Don't know what precipitated that. Haven't seen the car in person. Could have been non accident related.

does that lower the price of the car? Or if it was done correctly, then do you dismiss it when assessing the value?

i'll try to get more info.

The real key to whether it affects value is whether the respray is accident related, or just touching up stone chips.

If you found a nice silver one, you should check it out in person especially if the mileage and condition meet your requirements. I think you will find that there are probably more red or non-metalic black 328s that are in great shape simply because those were the 2 most popular colors when the cars were being built. There are probably only a handful of blue, grigio, silver, prugnia, or other color 328s here in the USA, and even fewer in great shape. It seems a good number of 328s were driven pretty hard when they reached the bottom of the depreciation curve years ago.

Unfortunately for someone that does not want red, truthfully many of the best 328s I've seen have been red.

If I were in your shoes and you thought you found a good silver one I'd go look at it and have a PPI done.
    Best regards,
    Dino

    Sounds like a good plan.

Probably be back in CA in the next couple of weeks looking at my candidates. Palm Springs next week on business. Any dealers there to check in with?

Still hoping Randy at Motorcars Intl finds a nice one for me - they seem like an excellent outfit.

I'll have to head down through San Diego to say hello to Bullfighter if I find a CA. car.

Those grigio cars look very nice.

One of the reasons I'd persue a darker colour is not liking all the black features contrasting against red on a GTS. Since I'm wanting the targa top have been thinking about GTB trimming a red or darker car.
Have you any comments from your experience?
Love the look of your car BTW.

    Thanks for the link.

    Grigio is Very nice.

I talked to Randy in MO. and he thinks we have a winner that is not red... I'll look forward to posting photos in 3-4 weeks.

Should be a great August through fall in the Rockies for me.

I am still on the fence...thinking about moving up to a 355 or possible a HUGE jump to a 430. I am having a hard time with the thought of letting my baby out of the garage without my a** in the seat but sometimes you have to move on. I would love nothing more than to have two ponies in the garage but the new baby coming in November has another opinion. I am not entirely convinced that I am ready to let my 328 go but...

    My car is Black/Tan 87' 44k miles, fresh 50k service...still interested?

For red, take a look here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201403

As far as my experience -- it's been an interesting exercise in detecting overzealous purists ;)

All my changes are reversible. Had I been able to find an additional targa top for a reasonable price, I would have used the spare. I did use spares for the louver mod.

PM FChat'er BrianC before you sell. He went from a 328 to 355 then back to a 328. I'm a fan of the 355 exterior styling and horsepower, but in some ways it's not a matter of moving up so much as leaving behind Ferrari's "body-on-frame/small workshop" era and buying into its "unit body/automation" incarnation. The F430 is a huge jump to the "video game" era -- again, massive horsepower, but you might not love the car the same way. My two pence...

Sherpa also had a 355. I'm not sure if he had it at the same time as his 328 or if just went back to the 328 after getting out of the 355.

328Nero you may want to talk to Sherpa also as he seemed relieved to be out of his 355.

    Best regards,

I have a 328 GTB and a 430. If someone put a gun to my head and said "choose", the 430 would have to go. 308's & 328's have a look and feel that is unique among autos. Modern Ferraris are fabulous cars, but there are lots of fabulous cars out there now and more to come. Plus, on streets, it is very difficult to explore the 430's capabilities safely.
