I think something was wrong with his car. He returned to the pits half way through Q3 during his hot lap.

Yeah and Kimi thinks the McAttack is short fueled.

Heidfeld 4 spots in front of Kubica is an eyebrow raiser too.

Kubica had technical problems which prevented him from running a lap in Q3.

It would seem that with the unpredictable nature of the thunder cells you would not want to base your qualifying on a rain race. Jumbled up to say the least.

Does HK look like the Pope's son or what?

One must remember that this is the car that suffered great damage in practice yesterday after Felipe hit the oil residue from Alonso's engine hiccup (question yesterday was why didn't Ferrari tell Felipe of the situation?). This is the car that was rebuilt and back out on the track in under an hour.

Watching the interview - great for Heikki - definitely understandable!

Start will be interesting for sure... guess I'll be watching live timing on my iPhone.

Massa is set up for a wet race or he has a problem with the car. There is no doubt that he would have been up front somewhere if he could have. Q3 has been getting more and more interesting each race as a few teams have been opting for far different stratagies which is making it very interesting indeed. Tomorrows race will be fun to watch and if Massa's car is ok then it will be interesting to see him pass Balonso and work his way up the field. If not then I hope Kimi can get it together. Forza Ferrari!!!

congrats to mark! tho, he wont have the race pace i dont think.

Looks like Massa repaired car isn't working out for him....

Mclarens only ones to get into the 1,19.5 in Q2, so it looks like a Mclaren win tomrrow*

    * - pending weather.

did Massa even do proper 2 hot laps? i didn't even see him going out. many congrats to Kova for a brilliant pole. Even Fred congratulated him. he must know, it;s not easy to get pole in a Hamilton backed team ;)

anyways, Ferrari really looked off the pace. i just don't get it, they were the fastest here during testing, how come they can just lose it all, and get beaten by a RedBull? i just hope they're running heavier, or wet setup or someting. lts just hope the weather plays into our hands tomoro.

I dont think they had much time to tell Massa what happened in front of him as he came by about 30 seconds or less after the engine blow up. Massa's rebuild was closer to 3 hours as he came out 50 minutes into practice 2.

There was a pit stop problem with Massa's car. Wheel nut didn't go on properly, and there wasn't time for the lap.

    # Like Jarno Trulli, who on Friday crashed at the same place during Silverstone practice, Felipe Massa was also taken to the medical centre for checks following his big accident at Stowe. "The shunt was more than 25Gs, but I didn't feel like it was a big shunt. I did all the tests possible, and I am 100 percent for the rest of the race," the Ferrari driver said.

Thank you for once again bringing such refined humour to this board. Balonso! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Such wit!

You had to go back to the childish name deforming game, didn't you?

    Pathetic.

It is indeed a shame that somebody like yourself, whose posts in other sections (particularly P&R) are well thought out and usually right on target, has to completely discredit his interesting opinions in this section by repeatedly contaminating them with the same offensive bull****. Please stop it.

    Forza Ferrari!

It must have been absolutely devastating for the British fans:

    - Hami not on pole
    - DC totally outclassed by his team mate
    - Button on 17th
    - Rosberg in the Williams doesn't advance to Q2
    - An Aussie on the front row
