They said they would full the tank for me, guess what the fuel gauge was showing when i picked the car up???? Empty......By this stage i just wanted to get my car back without another problem to deal with, I just left. Awesome, new leather!!!!! Are you sticking to the factory colour or having a change? Is your car still in one piece at the moment? If it is you should come along on Sunday, i have organised the run this month, should be a cracker.....
You guys been able to drive there recently. Has it stopped snowing yet??? I've got a whirlwind trip there in 2 weeks and I'm scared. It's 7 degrees here in the morning and the rellies atelling us to be prepared. Just around Wellington, so probably will be windy, freezing and miserable......yay!
Thats ridiculous James. As you say its a blood* showroom. That is clearly evident from your photos. Its no different to photos of the lambo's in Melbourne posted recently in the Lambo thread. And the new owner of the white Murci acknowledged he had bought the car and was very pleasant. Keep the car in private if you want to keep it that way. My guess is the dealer thought what a great car to put on show and pull in customers, probably without consent from the owner.
i hope someone photographs it the moment it's driven out of the showroom and plasters the photos everywhere. what a complete wank.
Have to agree with you there, was going to call the owner a tosser, but, didn't want to go there as I thought perhaps the dealer f**ked up not the owner. He might have wanted to keep it a secret or something giving him/her the benefit of the doubt.
Wow, OK hang on guys, Its not the owner as such, (that i am aware of anyhow) it was the dealer that had the problem, the owner seems like a nice guy from the very brief times we have spoken, the dealer was possibly told to keep the car away from the public until it was launched (I am guessing here, I have no real idea who said what....other than the conversation i had with the salesman.) I was more annoyed by the attitude of the sales man and what was being said, i don't think he had bothered to look at this thread to see the photos and was assuming i had taken the photos of the car in a non public place, and he was saying i basically abused my "privilege" by posting these photo's. (Keep in mind i brought both my Ferrari's from this dealership) The reason i apologised to the owner and will do so in person is because in my mind he is the only person who can call the shots in this situation, its his car. I think the dealership should be apologising for leaving the car in the public domain, but that is not something i care to get involved in. Please take it easy on the owner, he was not involved in the conversation.
Relax brother, the weather will be cold and there will probably be some snow around, but you will live through it. Wellington is a good spot, plenty of car nuts down that way......
tell the dealer to FOX5, bottomline is, if they don't want people to take photos that "may" end up on the net then keep the car in a private area or put a cover over it ... also I find it hard to believe a sales guy would give a two-time buyer of Ferraris from "his" dealership a hard time, he should be happy to see you and roll out the carpet
Welcome to F-chat! Great to have another kiwi on board. I would love to see some photo's of your 308, I bet getting it complied is not easy, but it will be well worth it. I was thinking of bringing in a 308 out of the states, or maybe a 328 as they are now starting to get over the 20 year mark for LHD. I would be very interested in your experience so far and what hurdles they make you jump through. Regards, James.
Will keep you posted. At the moment I'm restricted to blasts down the North-Western and back on a Sunday Morning. Just out of interest I have 100's of 80's and early 90's photos of kiwi racing ferraris and other classics, the 308 GTB, Mondial and 512BB Boxer etc. My old man used to race Porsches and I took dozens of photos at Puke, wings and wheels etc. as a kid. I will scan and post when I get a chance. Should be enjoyable for a few.
That would be awesome! Thank you. If you are out for a morning blast tomorrow swing by Conti's, we are meeting there at 9~930 to head out for a run, not sure what the turn out will be like given the weather but I'll be there along with at least 2 others, I'm hoping for 7-10 cars would be sweet. Be great to put a face to the name. Also, are you a member of the club? We have some great get together's along with some very knowledgeable people.
I would need to get access to the workshop as the car is getting re-inspected by a more Ferrari friendly Certifier than the last turkey. I will be up for the runs shortly though. Cheers Paul
Where's the run going? Looks like you stirred up a bit of action with the scud photo - why doesn't anyone go for the gold wheels with these things? It would have looked sick!
(Groan) - wishful thinking to see you than soon, I'd settle for spring! Someone earlier in this thread wanted to see a pic of the racing 308 GTB. Here is a photo from approx. 10 years ago showing this car in its early stages of development. I undestand it has a 328 engine now. http://s142.photobucket.com/albums/r104/paulmillor/?action=view¤t=308gtb.jpg I need a lesson in posting pics directly into the thread.
The run is headed south this time, i organised it this month so its a long run over some cool roads (that's fairly normal anyway ) You should have received an email about it today? Join us mate, your 355 will love to be let out for the day. Hope to see you there.
Just in time for summer........That's all good! To post a photo use the "Additional Options" box below the reply to thread (where you type your message) click the manage attachments button and a window will open, click browse and another window will open, select the file from your computer and click upload. it will take a little while due to NZ's Internet speed but once uploaded you can close the upload window and click submit message as normal. Hope that helps.
A fantastic day today, the weather really turned it on for us. We started at Contis as normal, we were joined by a new 612 amongst 7 other Ferrari's and a rather nice 911. We headed south down the motorway and too the Dury exit, this gave an excellent opportunity for drivers to hear the sound of their cars as we went under the motorway towards Gt South road, we travelled on some awesome back roads threading our way through to a very quick regroup in Tuakau, i think the locals had not seen such a group of sports cars before.....we certainly caused a few people to rubber neck. Moving on from there we continued south heading in the general direction of Waingaro over some excellent winding roads with a great view of the country side and past a rather large lake in the middle of no where. We winded through the northern Waikato down into Huntly for a regroup, a quick photo or to, a chance to stretch the legs and we were off again, another regroup at the BP in Ngaruawahia for a splash of gas for those who required it, heading further south on the great roads behind Hamilton to the lunch venue at "The Narrows Landing".Lunch was very pleasant and the food was only surpassed by the great conversation. All in all it was a fantastic day. Thank you to all involved! Now the pics.....
