What was the spec of the stripe? Not a fan usually but looks great!
Thanks again for the comments - the pick up in Italy cost quite a bit more in money, plates, insurance and time - I had to do most of the legwork as the dealers are not set up for this and FNA does not have a program.
oh my God I take delivery of the same car in maranello in october! black with grey stripes, yellow calipers, yellow stiching, etc... CONGRATS!
Have fun - I am a bit different with grey stitching, black calipers and .... but keep it ABOVE 150 - and that ain't KPH!!!
Beautiful car. I love the dark stripes. Congratulations!! Autobahns are in Germany. Autostrade in Italy. Unfortunately, the autostrade (unlike Autobahns) have speed limits (ridiculous at times) and are full of speed cameras. A few years ago it wasn't like this. Speed limits always existed but they were just formalities once. I heard that last year the average Italian family paid 500 Euros worth of tickets (not to mentions the 'points' and eventually, the licenses lost). Stef430 was lucky not to get caught by the police. Doing 180 (mph), should you be cought, would result in loosing your license without being able to get a new one for a year or two (as you may be suspended for reckless driving). Maybe even some jail time (not sure about this as they were considering it a while ago and I'm not sure if such measures have been implemented as our "lovely" socialist government fell). Not to mention a big fat fine. I'm not to sure about the details as things change continuously (for the worst in general). This applies to Italians. However, as Stef430 isn't Italian and was driving an American licensed car I'm not sure how the rules would apply. A lot of Americans come to Italy for tourism thinking that it's the other speeding heaven alongside Germany but may get nasty surprises. Things have changed here over past few years unfortunately. One can only hope for the good old days to come back...
Very nice car! Congratulations on it Here in Canada, they changed it as well, 32mph over the posted limit is a 10k fine, car impounded and loss of license. 50mph over the posted limit is considered manslaughter.
Awesome pix and how much fun picking it up in Italy had to have been. I tried to do this for my 40th with my 430 spider but was told by my dealer it wasn't possible. Glad to hear you were able to do this on your own. Could you PM me when you have a chance to explain how you went about the timing of your build/ insurance/ pick up details. It's too late for me to do this with mine (on the boat as of July 7th), but would love to do this with future models. Thanks ahead.
Stef, The car looks amazing!! What shade did you end up choosing from the samples or did you go another route? Kind of hard to tell in the photo but it looks very subtle. It is exactly as you envisioned and I applaud you for sticking to it because it really hit your target goal from what I recall. Congrats!
That's the third black Scuderia with gray stripes here in New York. It looks incredible. I bet you had an awesome time picking it up at Mecca.
Your car is making me second guess my Rosso Scuderia. Nice example of individuality. I would be interested in the routes you took around Italy if you have any recomendations as I would like to try and pick up my Scud at the factory. Congrats! on your beautiful car.
The break-in process begins with running a brand new engine at 8500 rpm continuously for three hours??? Are you sure?
That is what they said to me at the engine room - regardless, I drive my Ferraris from mile one as I would at mile 30,000 and have never, ever had any issue.
It appears to be a lighter shade than the 'standard' stripes color. The owner said the color was his own choice. CH
Congrats on the Scud Stef...it looks absolutely gorgeous! Personally, I think every new Ferrari owner should take delivery of his car at the factory! Nothing beats driving an F-car on the autostrada and down to the Cote d'Azur. Overall, was the factory delivery/drop off easy? How did you go about insurance, temporary registration, etc.? Congrats again buddy
