This caught me off guard! Okay by me, though... Welcome, Nevadans! :)
You're not up on the new geography yet ! Vegas would seem to go with: Arizona, Southern Nevada , & New Mexico. I think the forum heading was meant to be Northern (California & Nevada).
Yet another shining example of why proper punctuation is so important! I wonder if people in the western part of the state of Virginia have similar identity issues?
Don't change it to "Northern (California and Nevada)", this just doesn't look right Parentheses are meant to contain non-essential info. Sorry, but it would just be weird if a Forums name was "Northern"... I actually agree that this is a good addition. The Reno folks end up posting in Nor Cal anyways, so why not put them in the title.
B. The first one still has some ambiguity, but "Northern California & Northern Nevada" is clear and concise.
ArrayList states = new ArrayList(); states.Add("California"); states.Add("Nevada"); GeographicAreaSectionTitle.Text = NorthernPartsOf(states); Better? Orrie
I've been suggesting this to Rob Lay and he took me up on it. I live In "Northern Nevada" near Lake Tahoe. It's 520 miles to Las Vegas from here and it doesn't make any sense to include us with activities in the south. Even the FCA lists Northern Nevada with Northern California in the Pacific Region. There are so few activities in this area that most of the activities I attend are in the bay area and since there are no Ferrari maintenance people in Reno I travel to Walnut Creek to get my car serviced. I thought it was a good idea. How about you guys?
So should it read Northern (California (including but not limited to San Francisco) & Nevada) then? I'm starting to be confused. Maybe I should move to LA and then I could join the Southern California sub-board.
Stateline runs straight though the center of Lake Tahoe so thats obvious. And while I always welcome a run to LV even though its 500 miles away, socal might as well be on the moon.
I agree that it is a good idea, but I think the name could use some clarification. If that doesn't happen, oh well - no big deal.
I am a Regional Business Manager for a medical who is in charge of Northern Cal and Northern Nevada and there is one thing I will say about it..... It is INSANE how big this state is!!! Cripes!! When I was in Wisconsin, it was maybe 4 hours from top to bottom. This is nuts!!
