I really like white beers these days. Although I will admit that Leini's Summer Shandy is a season friend of mine.

I had a Dogfish yesterday. Don't remember which one, but it was 7.2% alcohol. It was really good though.

I love all unibroue stuff. Especially La Fin du Monde

Dogfish Head is one of our local breweries! I think it ranks with the best beers. It's great to see it getting some recognition.

Sounds like you had the 90 IPA. The 120 minute IPA is something like 20%....

That sounds right. Whatever it was, it was good.

The 120 must be what my friend had. He apparently had 2 the night before and was flat out drunk. LMAO!

During my recent vacation (almost a month ago), the wife & I had stopped in Salt Lake City, UT. for the night and had dinner downtown at Red Rock Brewpub Restaurant. Had the Amber Ale with dinner. Very Good. The wife had the Honey Wheat. She liked it as well. The woman that were there were well very attractive to say the least. Also Stopped in at The Snake River Brewing Company in Jackson, WY. Just bought some pub glasses and a shirt as a gift for my brother-in-law. Didn't try any of the beer. Wish I had though. Will definately have a meal and some beer the next time I visit Jackson. On the way out of town I stopped in at Grand Teton Brewing Company in Victor, ID. Had some samplers. The "***** Creek" ESB was very good. The "Teton Ale" Amber was very good. Bought a 6 pack to bring home. The "Au Naturale" Blonde Ale was very good. Also got sample of what I believed to have been the best ever beer I possibly have ever tasted. 20th Anniversary Cellar Edition "Mountainberry" Double Wheat Ale. They have brewed 4 special edition beers for their 20th Anniversary. I am glad I tried this one. TASTY! BevMo sells their beers. I stopped in at a local one and bought a 6 pack of the "***** Creek" ESB and the "Workhorse" Wheat Ale (still waiting to drink it). And my final entry from my trip was the worst of the trip. We stopped off in Idaho Falls, ID and decided to eat at the "Brownstone Restaurant & Brewhouse" for dinner. The food menue was weak. But the food was decent. The beer was nothing to write home about either. The Atmosphere was great though. Across from the Snake River. The building was very nice. But the inside didn't seem to have enough tables for it being a restaurant. Maybe if we weren't so tired the beer may have been better. MAYBE!!!

Just thought I would throw in my slight review.

And I really don't drink that often! HMMMMM!

Anything from Oregon, especially if it's straight from the source. Being on the other side of the world I'm fortunate enough that there's a little shop in town which carries my favorite.

I have been drinking Blue Moon beer from the bottle, which is great. Then at a bar I saw it on tap and the bartender asked me if I wanted a slice of orange in it. "Sure". It was great. I guess that's how it is supposed to be served.

I don't like beer, so to find one I like is great.

Had a bottle of Brookly Brewery Local 1. It's a Duvel clone. Damn good beer, I highly recommend it if you enjoy Belgians.

With today's beer selection, favorite beer to me changes fluidly based on time of year(weather), mood, and I've found that variety truly is the spice of life in this particular category of beverage. With so many options, it would be sad to stick to just one favorite beer.

That said I've been really kicking on Berghoff Summer Solstice. It isn't exactly the most unique beer I've ever had, but is definitely a great value and very refreshing after being out in the summer heat. I also currently enjoy Purple Haze.

One of the most interesting and best tasting beer that I've had in a long time though was Wisconsin Belgian Red from New Glarus Brewing Company. In fact, I've heard all of their beers are darn good so I'll be giving them more business in the future.

I'm not a real beer connoisseur, so haven't tried a lot of specialty beers or been to lots of brew pubs. But I have always really liked Killians Irish Red. If it's available when I am eating out, I usually have one :)

Picked up some Narragansett the other day. Wow, I hadn't seen some of this since 1979 while on summer leave up in Fall River, Mass. It was the "cheap stuff" back then but today I see that they're a winner!

    It's a good beer, I'm surprised :)

"The Narragansett Brewing Company won the Bronze Medal at the 2008 World Beer Cup. The award was presented by the Brewers Association at the close of the Craft Brewers Conference on Saturday, April 19, in Denver, Colorado.

This year's prestigious competition included 2,864 beers from 644 breweries in 58 countries, all of which were record highs. Narragansett won with its flagship Lager in the American-Style Lager category, one of the more heavily contested categories at the competition."

Green Rooster was waht I believed they called a "boch" beer, once a year emptying the barrels and getting all the good stuff in the bottle including extra alcohol and that green color. It was one of the beers imported from Denmark along with Neptune Beer, from Oakland, California by the Robert Brixner family.

I believe Neptune was bought-out by Carlsberg/Tuborg and the family moved to Denmark, last I heard.

Great stuff and a great family.
