exhaust manifold bolt torque spec???

    I've spent about 1 hour now searching on google and Fchat trying to locate an exact spec on what to torque down a loose exhaust manifold nut to, on my 308 QV, with no luck. I must be missing something in my efforts. I did find this generic chart from an old post:

    Is this the best I can do? The 308 shop manual .pdf file (I have) does not list the exhaust manifold (???)

    Any assist would be appreciated. I want to drive this car tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Bob, according to Guisepe (my Boss) it's around 13 to 15 ft. lbs

    Don't think I've ever seen anyone use a torque wrench on an exhaust manifold; just torque it till it's tight.

    If it leaks, try tightening the bolts/nuts a little more.

    I'd suggest being really careful tightening bolts into aluminum or nuts on studs in AL. It's really easy to strip out AL threads until you have a lot of experience with AL. A torque wrench is the safest. "Hand tight" with steel bolts into cast iron is "stripped" with AL. Fortunately, that's why God had someone invent helicoils! True, once you have experience, you can feel the proper tightness of a fastener into any common car material. But it takes time and a lot of car work to develop that!

    Of course, I may be saying that to folks here who have that level of experience. If so, I apologize - I have never turned a single nut/bolt on a Ferrari but I've worked on more AL heads and other AL engine components on auto, boat, and aircraft engines than I care to remember. My actual Ferrari experience will start in about a month when I pick up my "new" 328.
