Heikki Kovalainen has been fined 5,000 Euros by the stewards following a rules breach during qualifying for the German Grand Prix.

The FIA officials said the McLaren driver's car was improperly refuelled during the 'Q2' phase at the Hockenheim circuit on Saturday, but he will keep his third place on the grid.

It is believed the Finn's car had fuel added simply by way of a fuelling tank in the team's garage, rather than the normal fuel rig.

The stewards said the incident was a breach of Article 29.2 of the sporting regulations because his engine should have been stopped during the process.

the race hasn't begun, and there's already dramas for Kova.

hopefully both Ferrari drivers will do well today.

    we've got 4 hours left ;)

why fine him? He doesn't refuel the car!

Good morning everyone - playing on my iPhone here at airport in Columbis OH waiting for flt to DFW. Time to bring up live timing screen. Glad Felipe got P2. Hoping for a good race.

    Carol

Went to live timing and forgot time zone and an hour to go! Guess I'll find out what happened when we get home.

Brian, stop starting threads and then buggering off............:D

    Morning/afternoon/evening all..

Cool track temp, bodes well for tyre wear for the Mclaren, there is a risk of rain also.

I hope for a interesting race, I hope Lewis has to race for a win, and doesn't run off into the distance.

Good luck to Massa, and lets hope kimi can jump a few at the start,

    Good point Carol ..regards HK.

Yes it should be good. The start will tell us lots. Hopfully Kimi and Massa will vault ahead in the first lap. If Massa can take Lewis into the first turn and Kimi move himself up 2 or 3 spots then it will look good for us.

If Massa gets the jump on Lewis, and he gets red mist ,makes a mistake, although Massa maybe better to wait till his tyres go off then go for it, it would be nervous watching it though. Ferrari will have a chance.

But there is the case that Hk could jump Massa ...not long now..

    Hello everyone.

Not a very good start for Kimi. Good start for Massa.

This is going to be tough. May the force be Ferrari.
