Quote from Alonso prior to race (apologies if already referenced), posted at Autosport:

The former champion denied that he was becoming frustrated by Piquet's poor performances, but admitted that the team needed both cars to be on the pace as soon as possible.

"It's not frustrating. At the end of the day you do your own job," Alonso told reporters at Hockenheim.

"But there is a clear target for the rest of the season: to finish fourth in the constructors' championship. So we need points from both drivers. I will do my best and Nelsinho will do his best, but today it will be difficult for him to score any points."

    Oops :)

I guess it payed off for McL to cheat last year.

it's obvious they got an advantage from that.

They shouldn't even be racing this year.

We can't keep riding that horse. Last year is over and Ferrari came out of the off season with the better car. I think there are two things going on that people don't want to admit:

    1. Stefano and crew can't carry the jock strap of Jean Todt. Their pit lane screw ups and apparent lack of development of the car are the main contributing factors to Ferrari's misfortune

    2. Lewis Hamilton is WAAAYYY better than most want to admit. HK and FM didn't move over for him, he blew them away. He finished 9 secs ahead of FM and 12 ahead of HK. He drove a dominant race, even with a questionable pit strategy after the SC.

I know it's a Ferrari site and I want SF to perform much better, but the cries of cheating a year after McLaren was caught seems like sour grapes. The onus is on that team to show that they can carry the Scuderia without Todt. Montezemola ran him and MS off, and now he has to deal with the mess he created. I'm HIGHLY unimpressed with the team management. Massa and Kimi aren't getting the best car, best race strategy or best development. Lewis is doing everything most said he couldn't without Fernando, including development of the car.

    Maybe he's just THAT good...

To be honest....If the scripting of this season goes the way I think it will go ....you will see that Lewis wont build up much of a lead in the WDC. Kimi had to stay back in the pack today to allow the WCC to close up. As soon as Lewis gets a 10 point or more lead you will see Ferrari come back and more than likely with Kimi leading a 1 - 2 .Cal me crazy but this is whats happening.......It makes for a more interesting season for the uninformed and more money for the FIA and F1. ;)

It may happen that way, but if it does it's because Ferrari has gotten their act together. They aren't losing the championship because of conspiracy, they're losing it because their race management is not very good. It's a dynamic world and people learn from their mistakes, so if you see Kimi or Felipe hoisting the WDC trophy, it will be because the team finally figured out what they're doing. Right now, they seem to be over-thinking everything on race day instead of taking the simplest angle. They have (had?) clearly the best car, so they don't need to be fancy in their race strat.

Great, great post.....every point above should not be debated. Unfortunately, a lot of people probably will try to disagree with you.
I am completely unimpressed with Kimi lately. all of this talk about how cool he is, and his 'rebel' persona doesn't mean squat.....it seems that Massa has been the dominant driver as of late for Ferrari.
    Just my opinion of course;

    *NOT TRYING TO FLAME*

Not sure if this was mentioned before in this thread, takes too long to go over the whole thing. I just have a question that I hope someone could give me a clear answer, nothing against nobody/teams.

The question is:- How do you or the rule books define team orders?

Based on how LH overtook HK, it certainly looked like HK just gave way. So that is permitted? Then what is team order?
