Leaving aside that in 1994, I had already been following F1 and supporting Ferrari for over 20 years, the subject of Schumacher's cheating in 1994 has been discussed on these boards at length in the last two years.

Let me get this straight: The flex-floor was legal but now it is illegal...but Ferrari wasn't cheating. The McLaren system is legal and has not been ruled illegal...but McLaren is cheating??
He is a very very very talented driver, no doubt, but you don't just suddenly start driving a second a lap faster than anyone else on track overnight.
As I understand it the Ferrari floor wasn't illegal when they were using it so they weren't cheating. The system McLaren are now using isn't illegal so they aren't cheating.
I am a Ferrari fan, but this seems to me to be a very smooth way to get a legal advantage. In my book, if it is not forbidden, it is OK. I hate RD, but I love the tech side of this.
And yet folks around here think Massa has morphed into a WDC contender... By the way, Senna lapped Monaco a second faster than everyone else and I can recall both Ferraris being 2 seconds a lap faster than everyone else on occasion during the Schumacher era. So, yes, it can - and does - happen that a driver is a second a lap faster than everyone else. By the way, HK was running the same equipment...
There are now 2 threads, trying to explain or excuse the fact Ferrari had been beaten in the last 2 races, Ok not ruling anything out at Mclaren, but can it just be they have upped there game, while Ferrari have stood still, and could it be that this is the result of Ferrari's management shake up's and the loss of key staff..
Good point, but that would be one of those matters for the FIA to decide. I would have to say, without knowing all the details, that traction control implies adjusting torque on an ongoing basis as a result of feedback from wheelspin sensors. Having the driver make those decisions is no more traction control than having the driver modulate the brakes is ABS. IMO of course.
In other news, the FIA have received complaints that Hamilton and Kovalainen have been found to be most insidiously letting off the brakes and re-applying them when the wheels lock up. This shameful tactic is nothing more than ABS by another name. Therefore, at the request of the more fervent Ferrari fans, both drivers will have one foot amputated at the knee for good measure. Happy?
+1 I think this is entirely possible and likely the situation. The loss of key staff has seemed to hurt their organization/strategy on multiple occations now....it's starting to make me nervous.
Actually, Steve is the farthest thing from a Massa basher. The Massa bashers are me, Ted, Andreas and several hundred others who recognize his lack of talent. Lewis may not be as talented as you think we think he is, but he is orders of magnitude better than Massa, and that is indisputable
Well, in the article itself the system is deemed legal. Sure, there is always a possibilty that it will be banned, just as everything that gives a team an advantage that other teams can't seem to copy relatively easy. Like active suspension.
Very different from the flex floor. The flexible floor was against the spirit of the rules, but not the technially written letter of the rules. McLaren brought this to the FIA's attention, and they amended the rules to clarify what they meant, thereby making the floor illegal. Ferrari did not break the rules as they had been written (since they were written loosely and open to interpretation), but the FIA changed them to be more succinct. The rules very specifically allow a mechanism to adjust engine torque. It is definitely not a case of a creative interpretation of the rules. Therefore, it is very different from the flexi floor and will not and should not be banned.
You sort of lose everyone when you continually go back to yesteryear and slam MS once again to get your point across. It dosnt surprise me at all the once again you are for anything that can beat Ferrari.

Hey pal, I tried the other way with you and I got nothing than venom in my eyes.......well and few members laughing at you which should have given you a hint. As I have said before you DO have some knowledge that we can probably all benefit from and it would be much more appreciated than your usual comeback that are getting so rubbed out that you can read the rest of this thread right through them. I would not mind reading this way, but it makes it fuzzy and gives you a headache. Your opinions don't bother anyone. The attitude with which they are delivered does. Easy mate, like him or not ,I rate Ted post's highly he may not be the most subtle poster, but he is well worth having around for his knowledge. If you dont like his style dont take him on..friendly advice..
I don't think what I said was much different than what you just answered with.....????? He is arrogant to say the least and offensive on many occasions. Lots of times totally unprovoked too. You and a couple of other Senna worshipers on here always jump to his defense even when he is totally wrong and has obviously cross the line, and that is admirable. That's what friends are for right?
