Stopped by Miller Motorcars and drove this 550 today. 99' with 7k miles. TDF blue with cunio and black interior. 250gt headliner and shelf daytona seats tubi exhaust. Miller states they will perform 30k major, 4 new tires and fix anything that is wrong with the car (i.e. the usual 550 stuff - motor mounts, hoses, wheels, etc.) Drove well. Slow down light is flashing. Alarm light is on constant. they say it is a relay problem for the slow down light and the alarm needs a siren. They are asking $105K. The ebay bids are up to $90K. Please check this link and give your opinion or tell me if you know this car.

No, don't know the car, but looks pretty nice. Good color combo (IMO) and with the authorized dealer willing to "take care of all the little stuff" I would have some comfort there.

That said, where are things with records? how many owners? anything else done to the car or is the rest bone stock? All these items would have a bearing on how well prices it is.

Have you driven other 550s? If not, do so right away. Get something to compare it by. This 550 could feel nice, but without something to reference it's hard to know what to look for.

Speaking as someone who's never owned a Ferrari, I feel like the 550 is a steal at $105K. Frankly, I'd be scared of a decade-old car with just over 7,000 miles. But with the major service being done, you've got no worries. When you're driving away from the dealership in that car, Tubi exhaust growling, and that shifter making cool little cling-clang noises as you go from gear to gear, you'll feel like you got the deal of the century. You'll find yourself practically fleeing the scene, checking the rear view, filled with paranoia that they might realize their mistake and chase you down. Is the 550 the fastest thing on the road today? Not even close. But it's sexy and timeless, makes really cool noises, and has enough torque to pull the white dashes right off of the highway's asphalt. I say go for it; you won't be sorry.

Obviously not enough to make you pull the trigger on another one. Shouldn't you be browsing through eBay ads, too?

I almost bought a car from them last year. I discovered that it had been hit and they admitted it readily once I pointed out a panel fit issue. I would strongly suggest an independent shop for a prepurchase inspection esp related to damage. That said, I generally liked them. I recall that they were going to provide a 3 month/3k mile warranty. Maybe you could bargain for more time there.

I ended up buying a 550 elsewhere and absolutely love it. Feel free to PM me for more details. Good luck!

This a 3 owner car. Service records prior to the last 2 years are incomplete. But if there willing to provide a major service and fix other issues. I figure that would be ok. I would try to get the 3 month warrenty also. I inspected the panels and fit closely and could not detect an accident or repair. But the story of this dealer not dicsclosing an accident right from the get go makes me worry. Of course they are lowballing me on my trade in, an 88 Testarossa. I post pics if anyone is interested?

sidekick- Your TR is gorgeous. The nicest 550 I have seen is at Ferrari Houston. Look at their inventory. So far the trades at FNA dealers have been way better for me than offered by other dealers. Trucking cars is not that big a deal and is usually split. You pay one way, they pay the other.

Is that a nice 550 or what? Just about everything you would want, low miles, and major service to boot. Red and tan is kind of nice.

They offering $40K. Considering I just spent $10k on the major and accessories 4 months ago thought they could do better.

WOW! Although I'm not actually all that big on red and tan, that really is a beautiful car!

And I agree with the comments on your TR as well, looks great in that color combo - and well taken care of!

I can't believe they are test driving around with dash lights blinking?? WTF??

While the daimond quilting and darker interior of the blue car look nicer, the sport seats and single owner of the FoH car tilt it that way...

agreed. the dealer should have fixed the stupid stuff.

assuming you could get each dealer down $5k. the newer model year, lower mileage, sport seats, cf dash and resale red make the houston car a no brainer. i think jim lyons told me the cf dash was a $8k option. god only knows what the sport seat option costs.

    i like. think they'll take $105k ?
