For those going to the Detroit Grand Prix (Aug. 29th--Aug. 31st) how can we get a Ferrari parking spot on the island near the track--like the Corvette and Porsche cars (yes, I know those auto companies throw money at the race and/or have a relationship with Penske). Ferrari is involved with the ALMS series and I do recall from last year there being several Ferrari cars near a Cauley setup. Corvette and Porsche not only have a preferred parking site they also get to drive/tour the track.

I am an FOC member but admittedly not active in local events. Maybe if there are enough FOC/FCA members going to the race who would like to bring their cars we could influence someone or some entity to give us a little space. I took my Mondial t last year and though I found parking on the Island each day (had the DYC as a back-up parking spot) it would have been nice to park in a close protected area---especially since each day the track security people kept trying to usher me into the Corvette/Porsche area--which I declined since I didn't have any credentials.

Food for thought. Any one have any interest/ideas?

Last year, Cauley had a section, and there was plenty of extra room... I'd give them a ring.

Just a bump on this post. Since the race is in 2 weeks, anyone have any new info about parking spots on the island.

cauleys tent is going to be alot smaller than last because they didnt sell the space around them so they just used that. this year all the extra space got sold so it wont be as big.

After making some interesting contacts at the 1st day of the Detroit Grand Prix, I was able to obtain a car corral parking pass for both Saturday and Sunday, so that I can bring my Mondial t to the event and park right next to the track in a secured area. I think they have put me in a spot near the Porsche and Corvette corral areas. In any event, it would have been nice if there were a Ferrari corral area. Since Ferrari teams participate in the ALMS series maybe someone with connections can work on an area in the corral for us next year.
