Hey guys - I am about to buy my 30k kit from Dan but I am not sure what alternator I have as the previous owner had it "upgraded to handle the stereo amp". I pulled the bottom cover to expose the alternator but no ID or part number is visible. I do have the belt brand and part number however - a "DAYCO 5PK 0775". Any Ideas? Dan?

One more question - I am pondering buying the water pump rebuild kit versus the whole WP - are any special tools required to do this (presses, etc).

Thanks - car has been working great in my first summer of ownership. I am now over 30k though...

A 775 belt would most likely be belt 199822, the Dayco belt.

A quick picture of your alternator would confirm... if it looks like this (see below), it's Nippendenso. If it has a very pronounced 'fan', it's Dayco.

^ whoa... and excuse my post above. It should have read:

"If it has a very pronounced 'fan', it's Delco."

Dayco makes the belts; Delco is the old-style alternator.
