I notice that all the radiator hood grilles seem to be silver. My car was repainted sometime in history along with the grille. I am trying to bring it back to correct. Under the paint the grille is anodized black, same as the rear intake grilles. I have learned that the original paint on the car was silver. Were there any grilles that were black from the factory?

    Thanks, Ital351

The prototype 365 had a black hood grill and Ive seen replacement NOS grills in black so if its anodized not painted black then I would say correct for your car. You can get a new one in black from ferrariUK last I checked.

Lets see some pics and get you added to the boxer owners list here on the site.

Thank you Newman, I will. I am feverishly trying to make it at least presentable for the Monterey Historic weekend. I can put some pics after that. I think there may have been some perhaps minor history to the front as the lower valance has been replaced with a 512 spoiler type unit, and the fog lights are missing and I can't find any mounting structure for them (that is another story). There does not apper to be real damage to the structure in the front, but perhaps it does have a more recent grille as you suggest. If it does it would have been done before 1984. I hope I will see some cars at Monterey for comparison.

Again thank you for the welcome!

It was forsale recently and pretty much everything was painted red on it. I have it on my list as seeing it last in May 08.

16 cars before mine! I remember seeing it for sale on the internet, congrats! An upgrade to the silver grille is required, methinks, see below. Don't actually have a better photo of my grille yet, sorry.
