and then Fred put him off into the fields again just to prove that Lewis is a big mouth idiot. You would think he would learn, but he challenges J Button and then backs out because he is too big a puss to do the job, now he is telling Felipe it won't happen again and I am just waiting for the moment when Felipe stuffs it down his throat. Lewis is a loud mouth wind bag!!!

Hamilton and Massa actually do get along. Massa is constantly playing games with him during interviews to get laughs from the other drivers. Wouldn't doubt if Hamilton's comments were meant to be a joke. Chances are more likely they weren't. Massa seems to get along with most everyone, Kimi, Alonso, Kovalainen, so I would not make too much or a Hamilton/Massa lovefest.

Actually most of the drivers get along, except for Alonso and Hamilton, and Webber and anyone that ever got in his way.

But then I do not see Massa making similar bloated comments, joking or not. That's the point. Lewis just needs to concentrate on his driving and not talk so much until he stops making mistakes.

I agree he's none of those guys... Lewis Hamilton is an infinitely better driver than any of them.

So part of the reason you dislike the guy and think "he needs to shut up" is based on your assumptions of what you think he might say, if he was interviewed in the post-race, which he wasn't. Alllllrighty then... very unbiased view of things there Ron! :)

Here's what Hamilton said when asked after the race about his tire... "the damaged tyre halted my progress. I don't yet know what happened"

So, what part of that is him blaming the track surface or something stupid?

LOL!!!! Ron, stop it, you're killing me. So Massa gets schooled by Lewis on passing technique the previous race and the RonView of that incident is "Massa is a mature driver who is smart enough to let a faster driver go by". Hmmm, so then it was stupid in 06 when Alonso held off Schumacher for many laps to take the win? So Massa is a smart driver for letting someone go by without a fight, and Alonso was stupid. I guess I must be stupid too - here I was thinking it's a drivers obligation to fight for every position. If you consider it the mark of a smart and seeasoned driver to move over and let someone by (for position), then I am watching the wrong sport - I want the driver to have to MAKE a pass, not be given the position because the slower guy up front b!tch@d out.

He's winning the WDC and is, according to RonView, "talking stupid" and it seems to be working OK for him! Why should he change anything? The Ferrari fans aren't going to be happy with the guy no matter what he says, for as long as he has more WDC points than the Ferrari drivers. I think you should at least acknowledge your dislike of him is purely because he's winning. People love to hate a winner, especially when it's a winner who'se laying the wood to the guys they would prefer to be the winners.

But Massa also doesn't have the talent to back up his words with actions, so he's probably letting discretion be the better part of valor knowing he doesn't posess the skill to give his bark some bite.

I don't know how some of you conclude what you do. It sounds to me like Hamilton is acknowledging that Massa did a good job.

This is the first intelligent comment in this thread. Still - the rest is mildly entertaining verbal 'pillow fighting'...

"... I thought we were going to touch, so I slowed down even more."

Sounds like he's saying he let Phil by to avoid contact.

Although slowing when side by side with another car (and not having the whole track width to play with) would be pretty much normal racing.

    Except for DC. ;)

What's he implying? If he'd collided with Phil to avoid the pass, he might not have gotten even five points.

But this wouldn't be the first time Lewis got goaded into saying something he didn't think through. (Remember the off track challenge?)

Early on I liked him and then he started to show the real Lewis, which is not nearly as pleasant a personality as his polished posterior would lead people to think. Early last year I thought he was definitely WDC material, but I can't help but think his end of season form from last year is going to reappear once again, answering the call of his immature mouth.

What part of the opening lap did you miss? The start where Felipe passed LH and smartly parked him off the circuit and passed him? Takes just a bit of talent and moxy to pull that off. He clearly didnt need to back up any words to do it. He let his driving do the talking and LH clearly and I say this with all respect of LH(his talent is undeniable), graciously, very graciously acknowledged this after the race.

I will take the LH's comments and compliments about Felipe and the start way more seriously than your statement above. LH saw what happend. You may want to watch it again. Commentators called it "Hamiltonesque" so Im guessing thats about as good as it gets. Lack of talent notwithstanding eh?

I like his brashness...it gets rid of the boring parade we've been accustomed to in F1. I love the fact that Felipe came in with antennas raised and made Lewis eat his words...that's how REAL rivalries are formed. All of this passive indifference everyone clamors for is for the birds. Let these guys mix it up a bit and leave the love fest for chess. Those two guys SINGLE HANDEDLY make me rue the fact the next race is THREE weeks away.

Of course, the fact it's on a circuit nobody is accustomed to will make it all the better. The wheat will be separated from the chaff. I suspect we'll see these two fighting it out for pole again. BTW, I think Lewis is admitting he was surprised that Felipe punked him like that...he never saw it coming.

I'm certain Lewis has no intention of letting it happen again, and Felipe probably wants to ensure it does. That's what competition is about.

Lest we forget, it is just Hammy's second year in F1. He has the potential to be another Schumi (though I hate to admit it). I said potential...not there yet, not even close.

I was so proud of Phil in Hungary. Brilliant. Just brilliant.

So there's no truth to the totally unfounded and made-up rumor that Phil sent Lewis an mp3 of the Linda Ronstadt hit, "Blue Bayou"?
