    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you guys know that I am selling my 400 as I need to make room for a porsche 965.

This vehicle is an all original showcar and has 12,900 original miles. I have the DMV documents to prove the

original miles. I apologize but pictures to follow this weekend. Please PM me if you are interested as I am the third
    owner of this vehicle.

I will be placing the car on ebay and hemmings after the weekend if no one from this forum is interested.

The car is located in NJ.

    Thanks,
    James

Good luck with your sale! I just saw your emay listing; $37K would be a great price for you, if you can get it. Do you know how many miles were on the car when it was imported into the states?

    Regards,

    Art S.

I have all the DMV documents from all 3 owners. I believe it was either 10 miles or 0 and was bought brand new from some dealer.

Thanks Art...I hope the sale goes well. Maybe there is some collector looking for an example like this one. I am also ambivalent about the sale...depressed actually.

Wish I could sell it to someone on Ferrarichat...knowing that it would go to a true enthusiast would
make me feel better about the whole transaction.

    Regards,
    Jim

Beautiful car...wish I had the $$$. Good luck.

By the way...be careful having a NY tag in NJ. The NJ Division of Criminal Justice, Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor calls that "Rate Evasion"...thinking is NY insurance rates higher than NJ (hard to believe). Keep her in a garage...

It's in a garage now...thanks for the thoughtful tip and encouraging words. Lets hope my sale makes the 400i worth more.

...but surely you agree that it 'should' be worth way, way more than that, no ? i understand 'supply and demand' and "it's only worth what someone will pay" and yada, yada, yada...but come on, it should be at least $75,000 car. it looks perfect, outstanding.

over and over again i'm at a loss to explain how these cars can be so underappreciated. when will they have their day ? will they ever ?

It is because they are so ugly, have a dreadful engine, and handle terribly.

I'm not sure they will ever have their day, honestly. They do seem to be appreciated more in Europe. Italian eBay has a number of 400s, asking price at least $40k.

I posted this earlier on the 'crap car' thread ( a most under-valued journal if I may say so! ) but perhaps it is more relevant here:

In ten year's time these cars will still look as stunningly beautiful as they do today except you won't be able to buy one for less than $100k. And people will look back on 2008 and say:" I can't believe you could have bought one of these incredible machines back then for under $35K " !!

Mark my words, it's the finite resource theory all over again. There are only a limited number of these cars available and up to now demand has not been sufficiently strong to impact on their value. But that will change because these cars do tick all the right boxes. And when people start to realise that you can buy all that Ferrari grace and power for so little cash the value will start to soar.

In the year 2018, a V12 Ferrari 365 GT4/400 in 'show condition' for under $100,000...it's never gonna happen guys...!

I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed....that's about all I can do at this point.

400i are beautiful! Or else why did they pick a 400 for Tom Cruise to drive in when filming Rainman?

There has to be a very good reason...it's because these cars are timeless and so sophisticated.

    A gentleman's car who knows ferraris...right?

Just to go on the record this is one nice example of the marque.
Look at her, she's almost new.
