Good news guys. The guy called me today and said he has been taking care of some other urgent issues at his company, and to expect a final mule on my porch next week for fitting. He apologized vehemently and said they are excited about the project.

    Keep your fingers crossed!

This is going to work out - it's just going to be later than I wanted. That's the way things go in life it seems.

No, but I did get an unsolicited update (which was very encouraging!). They're doing some more work on the molds, and we should have a test version late next week sometime.

    I'm hanging.

What a saga! I guess if it was easy someone would have already done it? Stick with it.

Keep me in the loop. I'm still very interested.

Guys, this is just taking longer than I expected. First lesson learned in this manufacturing venture: Under promise and over deliver. I should have told you guys it would be September, and I'd have had some fudge room! :)

I talked to the mfgr yesterday and it's still coming along!!!

Husker, just curious, are they stamping this piece based on a drawing that you did or from dimensions taken from a physical 348 or just what?

Rob, I drew it out on a napkin at Shoney's and sent them that. ;)

Actually, me and my dad fab'd a piece out of fiberglass, did some work on it, did another fab, and then another. When everything fit right, I sent it off. So there are 3 mules (and I mean really nasty ones) in existence right now, and NO CHANCE are you hosers going to lay your eyes on them.

My manufacturer has also been doing some trials, working on the molds, etc. He emailed me yesterday and said he is sorry that it is taking longer than expected, but thinks we will be pleased with the outcome. Looks like this is all running a month later than I thought it would. I am hoping that the mule that they send is satisfactory and I can go ahead and start producing these.

As soon as they are ready to go, I will be launching a new website called www.FerrariCustoms.com, and this will be our first of hopefully many quality after-market Ferrari pieces.

Though I am getting ahead of myself, here will be the process for ordering a panel, assuming that you want one:

    1. You will prepay FerrariCustoms for the order, and will specify whether you want the challenge grill in satin black, or clear coat with the carbon fiber weave visible. Unless you want to customize the panel in some way, it will be completely finished and ready to mount.
    2. The piece will be manufactured according to your specs, and you will receive it within 21 days from the date of order.
    3. We will offer a "satisfaction guaranteed" policy; if you receive the piece and you decide that it is unsatisfactory, you can return it within 14 days (unused) for a full refund.
    4. YOU will be responsible for purchasing the 355 taillights.

    Stay tuned...

Going to be in the $1300 range. That's finished and ready to mount, and will be Ferrari OEM-quality, as opposed to a certain other after market panel that apparently shows up at your door unfinished and has the fit and finish of a homemade bar of soap.

This is going to be a product that, if you like the look, will be worthy of mounting on a Ferrari.

    Gosh I'm getting excited!

I am anxious, I hope you guys like the look, and I am just sorry that it has taken so long. I can't recall the exact date I started pursuing this, but it's been a number of months now! If I could manufacture it myself I would have long since done it, but this kind of stuff is way out of my league.

The look is different than other 348 panels that you've seen, and I know it won't suit everyone's taste. I just hope it suits mine!!!
