Based on those pics and that description (or lack thereof) my bet is the ebay mondial qv cab is a mechanical nightmare.

I see some paint chips (sheet metal damage?) on the front of the passenger door, and the rear plate is crooked. Besides the impression I share that it needs help, can you spot anything concrete that is amiss? If it runs, has life in the clutch and the electricals work, who's to say $15k wouldn't be an attractive price? Just curious; the car is near me.

From the pics... the paint is terribly sunbleached, leather is full for holes and tears, right rear turn signal lens broken, passenger door dinged (over extended?), front arm dam/spoiler damaged on the right side.

If the car's a rust bucket I'd part it out :(

Even so; it's worth at least $10k as a parts car alone unless the engine needs internal work. Which it might! But as a kick around driver, I'd pay $15k. I'll try and go see it.

I'm sure $15k is an attractive price for someone. We'll see where the bidding ends up. If there was a reserve it was met somewhere south of $10k. Obviously this car has spent a lot of time baking under the sun and ferrari owners generally don't neglect cosmetics to such a degree yet keep up on mechanicals.

Who knows, after the body work and another paint job, replace the interior, and if the rust isn't to severe, you probably have a deceint daily driver.

They should provide you with radar so that you'll know when these clowns are approaching English. If you're going to be a scam 'artist', invest some money in a thesaurus, dictionary, or someone else to write your scam e-mail up. This is pathetic...like a 6 year old put the message together.

I think it either got hit with the sprinklers or the water hose,
notice the body was wet and the top was down,
I would have felt he was trying to be more honest about the car if he had either shown dead paint or had it rubbed and waxed

No; the auction ends today and couldn't have made it until tomorrow. If the paint is really that bad, it's not such a good deal. And as someone said, any Ferrari that looks bad probably is mechanically worse. I had a passing fancy to buy it as a summer car but I'd have to sell my Lotus which would take time to get my price, and I can't have 5 cars anyway or my wife would kill me.

If I were closer I'd take a serious look at this one.

I called and they claim to not know very much about the car (which is probably true) and got if from an insurance sale. But they do know this; front left wheel lip bent, spark plug caps and wires are missing (plugs are installed) and the cam covers are in the trunk.

I asked if any did a compression test and they said no but the motor does turn over.

Car does need a major, and the air conditioner doesn't work and hasn't for at least two years. Probably thousands and thousands of dollars of deferred maintenance. If I were anyone reading this, I would completely forget about this car...

Congratulations Jeremy! I'll admit that I was tempted. I have a gut feeling that you've just scored a very special car. Keep us posted :)
