I just sent both of you Gentlemen a private Message. Thank you both for the leads/offfers! Regards, Chris.
What are your thoughts on fiberglass cars? I've had a few offered, but are they really worth the amount of money people want? I could step up but.... I really didn't particularly care whether or not my find was a fiberglass or not.... What are your thoughts? Thanks Guys, Chris.
For rarity only.........quality of fitment has issues, weight savings is mythical, IMO, and the steel rockers and frames still RUST.... So that's what you get for the extra $15 - $20K... But you are one of the 120 US legal cars, 1975 - 1976....as I may told you once, the real advantage may be the more careful care rendered to these 'glass cars by people who respected what they owned as opposed to your "normal 308GTB abuser" LOL! There was a guy painting one here from damage not long ago the it was his THIRD one.....a Vette shop out there where you are. Unless you find the Mustang Ranch car again...
Unless its a true collectors type vehicle and intended to stay that way, I'd save the $$ premium as pre-paid maintenance on a steel car, and drive it!
Chris I don't think your ever going to buy a 308. I am so sure that I will send you $200 the day you can prove to me that you purchased a car. Every time you start talking about a new lead I roll my eyes.
I do realize that Ive been picky, and Im prepared to pay for that shortcoming. I'm probably not quite as affluent as some on this site, so I want to make my purchase count as I'm sure it'll be with me a long time. Some people are able to purchase on a moments notice, thats not really the case with me. I have the funds to buy a very, very nice car, so Id like to wait for the right one. Is that so wrong??
Go for Dave H's red/tan '77 308 GTB! Not sure what else you need to be ecstatic with your F-Car purchase -- this should be the one based on my understanding of what you are looking for -- and then we can split the $200.00 ! Lots of people look for as long as you have...as long as you are narrowing the search, and ARE TRULY READY to jump on the right one for you, the rest of this is noise. That said, there are also many 'lookey loos' and 'tire kickers' too. They key is for both sides to have their time respected. J.
Understand what you're saying. It might help to suggest that I've already "pulled the trigger" as I've owned a 79GTB for a while. I liked the car, and it was a very, very, excellently kept example, but I want a non-cat, hotter cam car, in similar condition. Appreciate the feedback. Chris.
Bah! It's because I caught you red handed badmouthing a car I KNOW FOR A FACT you didn't look at. I even offered you money to prove it. I know that if I drove an hour an a half. I would have directions to where I was going. Your just wasting peoples time. I'm so sure your FOS that I'll raise my offer to $500. I have $500 CASH if you purchase a 308 by the end of this year.
Christopher, The problem is when someone wastes other people's time by stringing them along, knowing deep down inside they have no intention of making a purchase. That's just bad manners. I have no idea if that is the case here but from my casual observance of the situation, that's what it looks like. Members on this board are super sensitive about fakers whether the person is a faker or not. Nothing wrong about being picky, nothing at all. But when you are presented two good '77's and you pass on them, that's moving out of the realm of being picky and into the realm of being disingenuous. If I am wrong, then I'll admit it along with a congratulations when you purchase a car. If you respond with, "Really, I'm sincere" my reply would be, then act like it. -F
One of two things, I saw the car or I have exceptionally good insight!!!!!!!!!!!! Choose your battles wisely............
Sir, I hope to prove you wrong, as I bought a 79GTB awhile ago and know from experience what I'm looking for, that's all. I'll find it. Patience is a vertue. I'm not stringing anyone along, I just know what I want. Thanks for the response. Chris.
If I purchase a car this year, I'll expect you to make good on your offer.........Since I have your address.......
Your certainly a liar and more then likely a moron in my opinion. The car has been sold and it went to a hobbyist.
Unlike you. I am someone of integrity. If you can prove to me that you purchased a car before Dec 31. I will send you $500. Since you have already failed to collect the $100 by proving the location of the car you drove to LA Jolla to see, which should have been EASY money. I am very certain that you will never see a nickel out of me. The car you do have. Care to share the VIN?
If you even sold it at all.....I know you didn't get what you were asking for it.......... The car's appearence/condition I'm sure is a direct reflection on you... You're enjoying this aren't you? You're pathetic.....
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, Please wake me up then this is over.
