I have been kicking over the idea of trading my 1986 tesstarossa 43k miles (single high fly, single lug, US car) for a 1990 348. My car has had about 45k in work over the past year or 2 from a complete tranny rebuild to it major ... the exterior is in very good condition and the interior just has some dried leather on the drivers seat (no rips) ... Does this seem like a fair deal?

If you want to upgrade, I would recommend the F355. You will enjoy a much more advance car in every aspect.

Keep your car. Especially if you put $45K into it. An average '90 348 isn't worth what you recently spent in service on your TR.

If you want a V8, I'd say 328 if classic, 360 if modern.

Most people would go from a 348 TO a Testarossa, not the other way round :)

yes, most perhpas. I can easily see why you want to go from a early TR to a 348. I you want to enjoy a spirited drive, or your body is build like a normal human, the 348 is so much better.

    +1 Million!!!!

Keep the TR, add a 348 if you can, or even better add a 355. The TR is not going down in value and it sounds like yours is a nicely sorted example of a very rare TR. Keep it.

Having had several opportunities to drive some well taken care of Testa's I went with a 348. Its smaller, and a much better car to drive around/handle.
That said on the Pacific Coast Highway I did open up that big flat 12, and that was awesome! Get yourself a 348ts and you will never look back.

Keep the TR and add the 355. Best of both world's.

I am partial to the 328 for a different shape than the TR.

I plan to get a TR in the next several years for a great F-car duo.

    Wow

Thanks for all the replys! I have had the TR for about 2 years now ... I love the car and the 12 cyclinders. I have had a mondial vert, 308, 328, ... and I love the styling of the 348/355.

Yes my car is in great shape, and I have put alot of money into it (what ferrari owner has not?), ... but I am ready for something new.

I also know that the rare us TR single high flys ae going up in value, but did you buy the car as an investment? I did not ... If I had, yikkes

I've had both at the same time, and as nice as the TR is, it is very old tech compared to the 348. The TR is more comfortable as a long distance cruiser, but the 348 is more of a sports car. Over a give and take road the 348's size and agility is way more fun.

I kept the 348...... The TR moved on.
