Welcome back Brian! I completely understand your situation and know what it's like working for a company/people that make really BAD/Arrogant decisions. Being in aircraft maintenance in the USAF for 14 yrs I have seen a lot!
Brian has spent a lot of time on the phone with me talking about potential purchases; sure he may have ultimately gotten some business out of it, but he cares about these cars and his customers to a fault. He offered to try to find a way to flatbed a car 150 miles away that I wanted a PPI done on. He gave me a lot of good contacts for sources for cars. I spoke to him a few times after 6PM that he was still at the shop. After he did my major service, he didn't like the way the cambelt bearings sounded, so he took the whole thing apart again and replaced them; the parts were just not quite right. I hope your F-mechanic would do that (on his own, mind you). He wants things done RIGHT, not half-baked, not 90%, not 99%, but RIGHT. I really do not want to see him leave this board again.
Oh, ya'. What he has done for me makes me sleep better at night. I unfortunately didn't get quite anywhere near the service from even the factory dealership. Very sorry to say that. I know the Fact. servicers cannot think out of the box, but Brian's solutions were complete and better than the factory would supply: I mean they still insisted on Agip oil because it was in the book, even after their public support of better oil. Not going anywhere else.
Better roll it out of the hanger before I light it off or I'm going to blow all that crap off the wall.
Off the wall hell. There wont be any wall.....walls....hanger. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
For those newly joined members during Brian's absence, they have NO IDEA what an invaluable asset Brian had been to this community and they have NO IDEA how lucky we are to have him back. As someone had previously mentioned, I, too had benefited from his unconditional giving of advices even after he became inactive on the board. I never had to wait for more than an hour or so to receive reply from Brian. For those of you, F-owners in the area who can ultilize his expertise, I am truly envious. Welcome back, Brian. That should read, I just wish HE would change his avatar. The guy with the balding mullet and sleeveless flannel shirt if I remember correctly. -F
