Hell at $12oo dollars,it's worth having a custom aluminum one made. I have one in my off road car ( xtra large) and it was only $600. And it's not junk plastic.

Took the radiator out and found the leak at the bottom where the lift pushed in the nipple and thats where it cracked. Spent a whole $9.00 on a tube of Water Weld made by the JB Weld people. Applied the material as stated on the box and let it cure overnite. Took it to the radiator shop today and and pressure and leaked checked it. It passed and I reinstalled it. 3 gallons of green juice and and 2 hours later and the ole girl was up and running. Bled the system as the manual says and so far no leaks and i'm a happy dude. Looks like I saved about $900 bucks guys. That should by me gas for OH about 3 days. LOL

Thanks again for all the input. Happy Motoring to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cool Don. :):)

Hope she holds together. I got around 5 years with the fix on my old Mitsubishi. ;);)

And hey, it still held up too! NEVER leaked. We did around 100,000 km on it over the last 5 years! That repaired radiator would still be in there if that bloody core didnt rot. :D:D

I just hope this is disclosed to the next potential owner. (Ya, the radiator nipple busted but I glued it and its good to go, it'll hold up just fine)

If I were to find out this type of repair was done after I puchased any car (much less a Ferrari), I would not be a happy person. But that's me.

But I'm sure a new radiator will be installed prior to the car being put up for sale (if it's ever put up for sale)

I guess you had to say something didn't you, just couldn't hold it in . Me neither. This could go on forever so keep reading.
A purist I take it or so it seems .I'm quite sure you are very intelligent so open your mind. Would it also interest you to know that are people that actually repair & make parts for Ferrari's better than they do. Not to be overly condescending or sarcastic ,but with the track record they have up until this point ,every time a new part is installed it is as bad the one you took out without updating etc.....So that being said , would it actually be possible that there are alternative TRANSMISSION PARTS made "one off " as needed that are better, believe it or not , & FAR CHEAPER parts made? Just so you and every one else knows this, I had gears made for my car that Ferrari wanted rape me for ,outright rape. It works great without issue. THE 1STWORDS out of a prominent parts distributors mouth was I hope your transmission breaks/explodes,that's what he told me over the phone,1st reaction,he will remain nameless so he is not shamed by his ill wishes. I had already spent many thousands & thats all he could say. Why? because he didn't get to hit my wallet. So, now that we have established whose interest it is NOT in to find alternative repair /parts sources. Think again because what you are getting is more of the same you removed, crap. So when something fails keep running to that 1 800 number without giving anything else a 2ND thought. THEY LOVE IT WHEN YOU DO.

Get that repair kit while theres a few left. Its flyin off the shelves. There's a line at the counter of Ferrari owners that have bags on their heads so no one knows who they are.(LOL)

That's all fine and dandy, but it still does not answer my original question.

But you are probably keeping it forever so my question if this issue will be disclosed to the next buyer is irrelevant.

    I guess

Your questions? Who cares about you & your question????? You know I dont & thats "fine & dandy" by me. Not to to remind you , intelligent man, this was a thread to help a fellow 348/355 guy with suggestions to end his problem with his car.Last I checked it was FIXED.

And you SIR never answered MY question of how many rads had you tried to repair?NONE,maybe. Crawl under your rock & stay there. Its safer. As far as the sale of my car or anyone elses. What do you care anyway ? Are you the Ferrari for Sale Police? You seem to be hinting at integrity here arent you.1st it was inferences that I was a liar, now questioning integrity,WHO IS THE ARROGANT ONE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If & when my car EVER is for sale there would always be full disclosure of my repairs.NOT that I have to explain this to you or anyone else except for the person whom might be buying it. It will take better part of a full day I suppose. The people that post on this forum have my utmost respect because they also have had,at one time or another shell out TONS of money for something that we are all beyond fortunate to have as a hobby. My car has been an open book since day 1.
So go ahead & question my integrity again.Who do you think you are to EVER QUESTION ME OR MY INTEGRITY or anyone elses here???????????????? You are so consumed that you will keep the world in order yet you have NO control of it at all.
Get under your rock & stay there or come & play again . Basura,I've never questioned your intentions or integrity,so why do you do this to me ? Are you above others here? You could be a college kid in a dorm in Peoria for all I know. Not that I dont like Peoria this time of year. Now take a deep breath & write another post(LOL) I'm bating you , dont you get it by now? If it was a trap you'd be in it screaming to get out.(LOL)

Just admit you were wrong & get it over with would you . Stomp your feet. Beat your pillow . Put a stick in your mouth & bite really hard.
But do it. This is what started all of this nonsense isnt it ?

Why would someone / anyone .... who has spent $30k on their car (or so you claim)...... then go cheap,,, and try and save $700 on a radiator?

    Makes absolutely no sense.

Why haven't you filled out your profile?

PAP hit the nail on the head , quite sick. Its an old story all here are familiar with.
    Lets see what soured me.

Was it the valve job (guides/seals),complete engine reseal, replace timing drive bearing/s,all wires, all plugs, filters ,starter ,alternator, tires over & over due to agressive alignment(handles great though),both coils, trans rebuild (grenaded),an axle , wheel bearings, clutch, flywheel repacking, frt & rear pad replacement,(frt is F50), repairing sticky interior, widow motor, window switch, fabrications, harness repair.........oh yeah ac compressor / recharge....blah blah blah...refinished wheels ......

Its hard to remember it all there's so much.So NOW its fine day to day.I picked up the slack for the 2 last owners. What realy funny come to think of it , was that my left side rad was repaired from the same thing before I got it & didnt know till I took it out.So I drive it every day knowing what was done & there's little that wasn't.

The photos(they've been posted before) you see below were given to me by a previous owner, thats when you realize why it needed so much help. The holes are still in the carpet from the rol cage. The original owners name was Robert Meluzio. He died of cancer at the age of 42. He spent his last days before his death being driven around in it & trying to drive it. He had spent 40k+ in engine ,suspension, wheels, proms & countless other mods to it when he was alive. Most of which I unknowingly inherited. It was raced at Watkins Glen & Lime Rock as told to me by Ferrari of Spring Valley where the work to this car was endless.I spoke to the guy who knew him & worked on it / drove it.I was told by Dean of said dealer he was a passenger @ over 170mph.It handles out of this world, fast as can be ,stops on a dime but needed a pit crew for the 1st few yrs I owned it.
So all of this I learned a few yrs after owning it. How am I doing for disclosure so far. There's MORE but I'm getting a headache.

Oh ,while I'm here I would like to give thanks to all those who selflessly gave me help when I really needed it,most of these repairs would have cost more & taken longer without you.

What is written above is nothing more than what I know each owner here would do.Thats why its Ferrari chat....not Pinto chat/ Chevette chat/redwagon chat etc...
