Ferrari has had turmoil before and they learned their lessons from it and it is for that reason that they wont hire Alonso.
Yes they are all lining up.... Last season there were a couple of backmarker teams that wanted him. Ill bet Toyota is happy they didnt get him now. We can all see how well he has developed the Renault this season. ;). Yes teams want to win races and it is for that reason that Ferrari and other teams DONT want this idiot. If he was so good then please tell us what fantastic stuff he has done this year without Ferrari being tire penalizes and without Ferrari telemitry? He has done absolutely nothing to improve the Renault. In fact Piquet who is not that good has had a podium....Where is Alonsos podium? A victory is a victory easy or hard...its up to the other teams to make their cars better something that Renault cant do with Alonso at the wheel. Speeking of hapless opponents...Alonso comes to mind. :) Ah but who cares with all this coming from a sycophant. Martin said it all in a couple of posts the other day. Martin knows more about racing and has heard more around the track about Alonso than anyone posting in this thread or many others. I think I believe him even if some may start including him as a sychophant soon. :)

everyone keeps talking about piquet. remember that alonso is pushing that turd car to it's limits in an attempt to get a podium or two. he isn't trying to rack up every last point. you can see it in the way he is driving, which is probably the most exciting this year. i don't know why people are getting all twisted about his attitude at mcclaren. he was the reigning two time champ and hamilton was a rookie. hamilton stole all his thunder (fairly). micheal would have acted the same way or worse. in fact he gets the same rap you guys are giving alonzo. forget about the personalities. most multiple wdc's are *******s. the bottom line is, alonzo is a fantastic driver. in the same car, dead even with kimi, lewis and phil. he knows it and the manufacturer's know it. that's really all that matters.

Ted, i think Fred has the potential to be successful at any midfield or top team he joins.

however, why do u think a lot of people here including me, don't like the Fred joining? i think the main reason, is he complains, and whines a lot to the press, and acts like a small kid most of the time. i can't imagine him laughing off small mistake the team make, etc.

the way Schumi established and left the team, is a manner where it's a like a family there. i suspect, Alonso would only go there and destroy the atmosphere there. just look what he did to Mclaren.

i think he's a great driver. i mean hell, he beat MS twice, so that is something. he's great yea, but i would not like to see him drive for Ferrari.

Yes and when a guy like him cant contain himself in front of the media, then he surely cant contain his emmotions in the car when things get hot and split second decisions are to be made. Therefor not the kind of guy you want on your team. Even the survey taken here last fall showed 75% of the Ferrari fans here dont want Alonso on the team. Believe me it aint much different in the Ferrari garage. I think those guys are fans too ;)

you call alonzo lucky and then you hail piquet's podium? hypocritical? piquet has retired more races this year than he has finished. alonzo has qualified in the top ten and finished in the top ten almost every race. you have to be kidding about teams not wanting him. i don't understand you guys trying to slam the skills of a proven champion. a guy who was a point out of the championship last year. It makes you look silly. his skills are equal to anyone out there right now. And i'm, a diehard kimi fan.

I didnt hail his podium but if he can put Renault there then why cant a 2 times world champ? Alonso is so desperate that he qualifies cars on empty takes and then burns them out early in the race all in a feable attempt to be in the limelite for a second or two.

Franco , feeble are you kidding, he is doing his best trying to get a crap car to the front, when Mclaren looked like it was off the pace LH did a 3 stopper to keep in contention and it paid off, point is FA is just doing this all the time trying different methods and pushing the car to it's limit.

Keeping himself in the points and driving a under par car must be a nightmare, and real annoying when your a excellent driver, just take a look at Honda because I believe if he was with them he would be doing the exactly the same thing with that car. He maybe keeping his stock high by being in the limelight, but you can hardly call him out for it ,he is doing his best with the equipment available and its to be admired IMO.

Afterall this is what alot of folk want to see isn't it!! great drivers in crap cars or rookies learning in them so they gain so called respect.

Don't bother trying to understand, there are a few folks on here who don't know the first thing about F1.

No, and I never stated that I think they haven't. I'm sure Ferrari have hired difficult drivers and had turmoil before. Which is why I would imagine they would like to keep from it happening again ;)

As I've stated before. IMO, the explanation can be summed up with a simple phrase..."desperate times call for desperate measures".

That's fine. I understand and respect your opinion.......it just differs from mine. ;)

I can see where you would think that.

However for me, Alonso isn't one of those drivers who I would particularly like to see behind the wheel of a Ferrari.

Well, I for one am not one of those people.

Lol, sure sounds good. Had Alonso won the safety car lottery like Piquet did do you really think Hamilton would have passed him? One lucky podium doesn't make Piquet a better driver than Alonso. In fact it's still Alonso 9, Piquet 0 during qualy. Alonso 7 Piquet 2 during the race. Wow Alonso must be losing it....

I thought you would get a kick out of that post. :)

Yes, I have no doubts that Alonso is a much better driver than Piquet. I just don't think Alonso is as good as "he thinks" he is. ;)

Lol, that's a good one. I think they would have ended up in a smoldering plie in a run off if Hammy would have tried that on FA. I know that's what I would have done.....;)
