How much do you guys think a 1984 Koenig 512BBi twin turbo is worth? Car is low mileage, but not running right or the way a 600hp should (as the spec says). Repainted body, but no accidents.

Nothing if you factor in restoration costs to return it to original. I would be hesitant to pay $50K for it, that way I have room to take the kit off and repaint the car. I might still be upside down in it after I got it running right with or without the turbos. If the body kit turns your crank then pay what you feel comfortable paying. Post some pics. If its pimped out inside as well that really hurts it.

Significantly less than an original car.

Removing the body kit is no small undertaking.

you're the expert there!! any pics taking all that stuff off? What did they do to the aluminum panels to attach the stuff? I know it might be painful to revisit that....

The one car is searching for the one buyer.
If you ARE the one it would be worth perhaps $10k less than an equal condition BB.
Service will be trickey. Norwoods perhaps.

If the kit is installed the same way mine was, you may want to consider leaving it alone.

The fiberglass side moldings and wheel flares were epoxied on. And filled solid with resin. Sections had to be carefully sawed away. Then the remainder was ground and sanded off. VERY CAREFULLY as not to damage the thin metal. The wheel flares were especially difficult. As the aluminum rear cover is rather delicate. Fiberglass and resin dust everywhere. Do not be IN THE LEAST suprised if you have to replace the rocker panels, as the kit collects water down there.

I don't know about the front and rear bumpers. I replaced mine with original 365BB parts. The ground effects would have to be cut off of the existing bumpers. And they would need to be patched up.

I think it was somewhere around 200-250 hours to do the job properly.

    I don't mean to be a kill-joy here :)

Obviously he wants the "Koenig" kit or he wouldn't be looking for one. So, what's the car worth????? I feel If the car is in close to perfect or should I say VERY good condition. Meaning no cracks where the kit was placed, Engine runs "right" (which would be RARE) Accidents and so on... Your looking at a $65 - $75,000. Again, big range depending on the condition. IMO

I always liked the aggressive stance of the K car...if it was truly installed by a qualified shop, I'd say it is worth the same as a comprable 512 non k..

I would shake those BBS wheels and put a daytona style campy on it, leave the interior stock.

    Just my 2 cents

YAK! Im always amazed that some yoyo thinks he can come along with some tacky body kit and improve on a pinninfaria design. Why why why are people so stupid???

Personally, I always liked the Koenig Special 512BB treatment.

A little over the top, but it's period-correct, and looking straight out of Miami Vice!

Thank for the input guys. I did looked at the car but I did not have a camera then. Too bad. I want to look at the car again & take some pics this time but the owner would not let me unless I can give him a price. I guess I'll wait till he calls again or ask a friend to take pics for me.

I think it would be cool to have a real 512 and a Slutmobile Koenig 512, sort of like that guy in Miami...

watching the video was like a trip to the 80's all over again!ive had several boxers so the purist in me refused to even try to understand what koenig was reaching for with this.the boxer is the near perfect mix of design and brute power so why screw with it?.i mean im all down for the HP add ons that doesent effect the lines of the car but that body kit looked like something one would design after a night of chemical indulgence at a club called sprockets with a guy named dieter!

    but hey.....it was the 80's!
