That's too weird. Story has it the same thing happened years ago in a bathroom but the guy asked for his autograph...apparently that's why he stopped doing [autographs] for a while...so the "story" goes.

Some of the everyday stories are too - how about this:

A friend of mine was an HVAC man and one day he was called to a house in northeastern Connecticut to do a repair. He knocked on the door and Paul Newman answered it. My friend said, "Hey - you're Paul Newman!" Newman looked around at his wife (Joanne Woodward) and said, "Hey, honey - I'm Paul Newman!"

Newman then talked my friend into doing some charity work at the Hole in the Wall Gang camp for handicapped kids, which was located nearby.

I feel for him, he's a great guy with a great heart that didn't get caught up in the Holloywood scene. Nothing but class.

One of the classiest men in Racing. Certainly one of the classiest in show business.

He has a racer's heart, and orator's mind, the conscience of a saint, and the humor of a comedian.

    A legend.

    Here’s my Paul Newman story:

It was at the 2004 or 2005 Long Beach Grand Prix. I wanted to get Mr. Newman to autograph my Kyosho 1/18 diecast of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona that he raced in the 1977 24 Hours of Daytona. Word was that he was a difficult autograph to get, but I figured I’d try anyway. So there he was enjoying his burger and beer in the Newman/Haas Team hospitality tent and I patiently waited at the entrance. He finished and got on his scooter and was leaving when I blocked him and kindly asked, “Mr. Newman, can you please autograph this car for me?” He looked at me then looked at the car and once he realized what car it was his face immediately lit up and said, “Oh my god, that’s one of my first professional race cars!” He took the car, beamed at it for quite a long time, then animatedly told the story to his cohorts of how he bought this used Ferrari Daytona and raced it in the 24 Hours of Daytona with EFR (as he referred to Elliot Forbes-Robinson) where they qualified a certain position and finished in a higher position. To see, hear, and feel the passion this man had for racing is a memory I’ll never forget, and especially because he personally shared it with me. The man is awesome! Of course he autographed the car.

"Shakin' it here boss"!!! One of my favorite movies of all time. "I can eat 100 eggs in an hour". Cool Hand Luke......

One of the great people of all time. He gave much to life and life gave it back to him. I know he got to enjoy all he did.........I will miss him and that crooked one-sided grin he would flash ocassionally.

And for those who do not know. Any of the food items that bear his name, all the profits go to charity....They have since the beginning......

A few more photos to remember him by,,,,,,enjoy.....
