Here is an article showing all of the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours class winners. There are some amazing cars - too many to list - but which one would you choose if you could only have one? Not as an investment, but strictly on what it does for you.

The Ferrari 410 coupe is breathtaking, the Delahaye is really neat, as are the old Alfas, but for me it comes down to the blue Ferrari 500 Mondial and the red Siata 208S. I ultimately favor race cars, so I'd pick the Ferrari 500 Mondial so I could race it at Laguna Seca on Saturday, then show it at Pebble on Sunday. The Siata is something else though.

    Thoughts?

The right car probably won best of show, but I dig the 1913 Benz

The V16 Caddy looks like something Mr. Burns would drive!

But I'd take the Ferrari 410 SA. Elegant and agressive at the same time...hard to achieve.

Hands down...... Admiral Phillips. He and Brian have loved that car since 1960, and they epitomize what Ferrari enthusiasm is all about.

Wow, glad that I don't have to choose. But I have never seen a Lancia woodie before, didn't know they existed. Now THAT would be something different to take to the next cruise night at the Dairy Queen!

That is a fantastic car and a great story. It has been a true pleasure to read Bryan's stories about the ownership of the car. The fact that he is so open and a big contributor here on FChat makes it that more special that one of our own was there.

    +1. Admiral Phillip's car!!

I've already told the wife that we're going to Cavallino this year just so I can see this car in person. Although those of us in the Mid-Atlantic group are still pleading with Bryan and the Admiral to show it off in our area before then.

When I first saw the two tone blue Delahaye, I knew it was a class winner and hopefully the overall winner. I met the owner: Cathy and Paris several times over the weekend and she was on cloud nine. She had to fight with the restorers on color choice and interior and I'm glad she won that battle. the best of luck to her.

LOL, Robbie, maybe you missed meeting him at the Marriott Garage event back in 2007.
Here is a pic with you about 8 feet away from the good Admiral. (You to the left of Barry in the middle of the pic, the Admiral to the right of Barry).
My wife and I had a good talk with the Admiral and Mrs. Phillips that day.
I agree that his blue 1955 500 Mondial car is awesome!!
Second pic below is one of his car at Pebble Beach from that referenced thread in the Mid-Atlantic Section.

John And Mary Shirley's Alfa looked stunning post rebuild and was a deserved winner.

I would have shared the cup between Greg Whitten's ERA B Romulus and Don Orosco's 10,000 man hour rebuild of the Scarab F1 Fiat truck

I like both choices, especially the very cool Fiat transporter. I'd love to hear more about the 10,000 hour restoration. Hard to imagine spending that much time and $$ on a transporter, but kudos to him for doing it. Talk about unique...

+2 except that I won't be at Cavallino but will be at Palm Beach Superweekend instead with Dino Competizone.
