URGENT need for blood donations for a child in Houston

Hi all,

A little boy named Jonathan Michael Romano relapsed with a bad form of leukemia, AML, same type as I lost my daughter Sasha to just a few short years ago. She too needed a lot of platelet and blood transfusions and dozens of people, including many in the motorcycle and legal communities, stepped up to help - so as you can imagine, I just could not walk by.

My understanding is that things are not looking good and the little boy is in dire need of platelets and plasma of A+/A- blood type. Even if your blood type is different, you can still donate for him and he will get a credit for the type he needs. You can donate at any Gulf Coast Blood Center donation center or blood drive, and you need is his full name and date of birth:

I am eligible to give again on Sep. 3 and will go then. Please please please, take an hour or two of your time and go to donate platelets or plasma, even whole blood would be helpful, especially if you are A-type.

If you give platelets, you can donate more often then if you give whole blood, so if you are A-type please consider doing the platelets - it takes a little longer but makes a huge difference as the patients respont much better to a single unit of platelets from one donor than from a blended unit from multiple donors.

They've entered the most difficult part of the journey and it's breaking my heart.
