Does anyone know what chassis number this car is in the painting below?
The painting (by Alfredo de la Maria) depicts Pedro Rodriguez in the NART 330P at the 1964 LeMans. I know it's not #0820.

#14 at the far left is a 330P and is chassis #0818, finished second.
#15 at center is a 250/275P chassis that many have been engined as a 330P for LeMans and is chassis #0810, DNF.
    #58 at the right is a 250LM #5909, DNF.

I'll start with 0818. There are two of them.

I notice the Violati car has a Certificate from the Classische Department. That is when the certificate is worth its weight in gold to Mr Violati.

...and that certification of the Violati '0818' became just one of the many powerful factors which palpably discredit the factory's Classiche service. I hear that certain personnel changes have been made to improve standards - but this does nothing to change the essentially flawed nature of the process - nor the historically-defective and abusive thinking behind its creation.

One GTO owner was approached at the Le Mans Classic by Jean Todt who encouraged him to have the car Classiche certified. "Why should I want to do that?" asked the owner. "So that you can be sure your car is real!" replied Todt.

The owner - taking not unreasonable exception to the notion that he might recently have been mug enough to have invested several millions in such a car without first doing his own homework - opened his mouth...then took a deep breath...and responded "Errr - I am really quite happy that I know precisely what it is, thank you Monsieur Todt...".

Amongst its modern principals, Ferrari factory arrogance knows no bounds. Here they are seeking to profit from a world of which they know zippo....but they plainly suspect it houses a fair percentage of naive, confidence-lacking mugs. To that extent - they're not wrong. Just not to be trusted where old car matters are concerned.

Coco Chinetti had two of them under restoration. 0820 was with Obrist and must now be with McCaw.

Thus showing good sense in addition to good taste. Wish I'd been there!
