copied from Biante's website 400k for development, how much do they have to sell for those 1500 limited piece to break even? bit like the Bugatti with the Veyron really, $300 a model is a bargain!
A friend of mine here in Adelaide owns Classic Carlectables (?) who make most of the V8 Stoopidcar models. I've had a tour of the factory and heard all of the spiel and yes $400k sounds about right for the development cost.
BBRs made in the same factory does Kyosho, CMC is definately the bench mark for all 1:18 atm. definately a fine line between a toy vs collectable/art. compare a Maisto Mc-Merc SLR to a CMC Mc-Merc SLR, the difference is earth and heaven.
most of mine are kyosho and autoart ...........the best quiality so far ive seen is the classic collectables , amazing lvl of detail
autoart has some good stuff, but bang for your buck sort of model. kyosho is very good, but same problem with autoart, great in general, but little detail seems to go neglected. CC and CMC are definately the one to go atm. their resell value is usually 10 to 20% higher than retail. amazing stuff
At the Official Ferrari shop next to the Factory, i spotted this model of a 1:43 Ferrari F50 Bolide. One of my favourite cars of all time..... but when i picked it up, i saw the price tag on the bottom..... 240 Euro!!!!! i left it there... i probably should have bought it... but eh. http://www.*************/pitlane/pics/2356/3324355d.jpg
yeah i have, big dollars, cheapest i've seen is around $260. saddly i don't know which factory does their work, can't see if they have any 'left over' stock
