Finally got the harness put in the 348.

Had it done at QV. Initially we weren't sure how to do it. I originally considered having a bar put across the back and attaching the belts to that, but that would have meant the existing seat belts wouldn't work.

While I was at QV, I noticed a 355 Challenge parked up and had a look at the harness mounts on it. Turned out they were drilled through a bar in the engine bay.

So Mike & Sean drilled a hole in it and made a metal fitting which they inserted. Unfortunately, it was too short so I've temporarily had to remove the trim.

Got these white indicator lens on ebay. Cost £50 for the pair. So much better than the stock yellow ones.

Why don't Ferrari have them as standard!!!! ???

You can see the paint chip on the panel as well in the picture.

On the way back from having the harness installed, I dropped by Maranello. That's the name of the dealer not Maranello in Italy. :D :D

They had a black 430 Scuderia that just came in and we lined the cars up and took some pictures.

My 348 is around 13% of the value of the 430 Scuderia.

Yesterday, Boxer and I organised another meet for the Scudrunners Club.

We met up in central london, did a cruise and then drove to a lunch venue 45 minutes away. Always nice to be in a convoy of Ferrari's and lambo's.

Who says Ferarri owners are scared of driving their cars in the rain.

    :D

Thanks for the photos. You Brits make everything look so "classy"! Ferraris and British/Italian architecture just seem to go together

Nice to see you did not exclude the mini van mid pack LOL. Also, hats off in the rain, especially the F50.

Thanks for posting Sy, Wow F50!!!! I have not seen a real one of those. Your 348 makes the Scud look oversize! :)

Please fix your harness anchors properly. You will Die the way you have it. Run the adjuster all the way to the bar as close as possible then run the tag end of the harness back through the adjuster leaving at least 4" of tag end after the adjuster.

You can buy longer screw eyes that are rated for this use. DO NOT USE HARDWARE STORE EYES. You can then add a nut on the longer bolt and lock the eye at the height you need to poke through the center tail fascia.

I assume your schroth harness is the ASM model? The ASM is the only one rated as a four point. If you ever do 6pt's, which is better, you can mount it parchute style and sit on the substraps. That will allow you to use a 6pt and a stock seat with no center hole.

Your 348 looks awesome by the way. Any power upgrades?

Thanks FB. Will do as you say and take pics to confirm. Have you got pictures of how it should look like?

I had a chat with QV and am waiting for them to give me a price for a 355 plenum modification. They've done one already and got a significant increase in bhpaccording to the rolling road figures. Only problem is the increased height of the engine which will require the engine lid panel to be changed. May addd a BMC air filter as well. We're hoping to get around 380 to 400 bhp.

If I decide to do it it will be in November/December.

Here you go. You can see the tag end extra dropping down vertically. You can roll it up for cut it off but keep 4" minimum from the end of the retangular adjuster bar.
