We need more pics. I have the Goodyear F1's on my car now - replaced Michelin Sport Pilot all seasons. While I don't drive my 328 anywhere near 10/10ths, I did notice a significant improvement just from replacing the old (7 years) tires that came on the car, and with going to a performance tire. Of course, first blizzard that hits San Diego and I'm basically stuck...
Robb, Glad you got together with Furman. He's a relative newcomer to the local 328 gang, but his enthusiasm is enjoyed by all of us. Someday, someone in the "B" club may offer to swap for a test drive. If you are smart, you will decline. It will ruin your life! (just kidding). Welcome, Dave
Dave, I could see owning a second 328 as a GTB. Always thought my GTB would be a TR! We'll see in the next few years. Where can I find out about owners club get-togethers? Robb
Hi Robb, Great photos of the 328s. Its a lot of fun to go for a drive with other F cars. Also when driving with another 328 it gives you a perspective of what your car looks like in motion. Depending on what you have for tires definitely consider some Goodyear F1 GS-D3 or Bridgestone just came out with a high performance tire that seems to be fantastic and its about the same price or maybe a bit less. I've been running Goodyear F1s on my 328 since 2006 and I'm very happy with them. I do have the original folding keys. The car came with 3 folding keys, 2 door keys, and 1 small key for the pouche on the back of the passenger seat. I don't take my roof off very often. The last time I did, I was stuck at a gas station for 20 minutes waiting for some hornets that were attracted to the interior to leave the car. But if I'm leaving the car outside for any length of time particularly if it would be out of sight I'd put the top on. First so that the interior doesn't bake in the sun (I do have a windshield shade), and two so that pranksters don't have access to the inside of my car (thanks, but I really don't need a blue raspberry slushy to go with my crema interior. I had plenty of vandals/pranksters entertain themselves with my Porsche years ago). Best regards, Dino
Man, I love the fact that you are so into taking photos of your car! I wish everyone was the same way. I can't get enough of it! Thanks.
Thanks Dave, I joined FCA yesterday. I do need contact info to join the Colorado chapter as well. PM me the info if you can. Thanks. Robb
You are automatically in the RM region then. You should get your newsletter in about a month. The next item up is the anual pasta party at Bill Orth's house 10/11. Dave
Robb, You have a great car, very clean and a great year ('88). As far as getting used to it at speed, when on a twisty road, just focus on the entrance of the approaching curve, set your speed to a comfortable level, hold on and once past the apex, FLOOR IT. You should be fine. But then, I've never driven a GTS. Nice photos too. -F
What he said. That second to bottom photo really captures it nicely. I've always liked how the silver calls attention those tail lights. And I guess it helps if you're a professional photographer like Robb. Most of my car pics feature a blurred image of my finger.
Thanks Guys. This forum is the greatest. I just took a look at the business section and found lots of helpful info there as well. I can't imagine driving with 5, 10, 20 F-cars on a jaunt down nice roads, in town or out. Unreal. I will try to make the FCA meet in Wisconsin in 2009. Lots of cars to drive with there. I am sure that I owe Bullfighter his own photo session after so many nice posts, phone conversations, and good prodding in helping me find the right car. I think one of my favorite quotes from him is: "I mean, it's life -- you either had a Ferrari or got old driving something that's a (yawn) better value." I know I will find my way to San Diego before the end of the year. I'll be in LA around the election. Can't be that far away. Look for photos of his car here... Should be getting lots of practice with the crew in Colorado. Hardtop will be on the list soon I imagine... I'm looking forward to the shoot. Robb
