Judging by the 21k+ posts in the Singapore thread, I think you guys are the most active bunch in Asia, so what's the plan for the f1 race? Are some of you going?

I will be in Tokyo in late September, and will swing by Singapore for the race weekend before heading into China for a month, it's the 1st night race and all, should be interesting to check out.
You guys have any activities planned? I am down for dinner/drinks/party/chilling/whatever, fill me in playaz...

They have erected all those flood lights, fences & walls along the course and I drive pass part of the track everynight in the wee hours. It makes you feel like a racer & there was once a good crowd of contractors there while I zoomed pass @ hi revs while they cheered on. The lights lit up like a stadium, the track like a tunnel, the road was empty & I was the only car with a rumbling V12 soundtrack. Awesome feeling. Luckily I didn't get any speeding tickets :D

I can imagine that it'll be a great ambience when the race is on.

To be honest, I didn't buy any ticket yet or checked on it & I'm sure there'll be some invitations then. Some of us in Fchat has booked an entire floor of a hotel or important seats.

The few with view of the track? Pan Pacific, Fairmount, Marina Mandarin, Mandarin Oriental. It all depends on the facing and the floor.

Ferrari is staying at the Pan Pacific.
McLaren is at the Ritz Carlton.

I've booked myself tickets for the race, and will be coming down for a long weekend from Kuala Lumpur. Even though i have also been promised some passes, i could not risk not getting them, and missing this event. I'm not a member of any Ferrari car clubs, but i would love to check out any "meets" being planned around the F1 weekend.

Only 3 weeks to go, and i cant wait !!

    The Singapore Grand Prix
Formula One Racing held its 800th race on Sunday in Singapore, with the Singapore Grand Prix - also the first Formula One race held at night. Organizers built, then lined a 5 kilometer track with over 1,600 lamps, said to be four times brighter than those used at football stadiums. Twenty drivers drove 61 laps for a total of 309 kilometers at speeds sometimes approaching 300 kilometers per hour....

Driving from the airport, I saw what looks to be the grand stands and paddock. Is it still possible to follow the track or is everything in the wrong direction of one way streets ?
