Apologies for starting another thread on my car, but search did not turn up what i was looking for. my 83 QV is in fact BLU SCURO FER 501. i was wondering if this was a "standard" color a dealer would order to fill the floor plan, or would it have been a special order color for a particular customer? just a note, this color is really hard to photograph, as i looks blue-black in anything other than direct sunlight. Thought it was a Scuro ! Don't have any idea if it is special order Carreaper, but it is rare. To date, I've only seen it on Euro cars. Nice car, very nice.....
Have no idea how rare that color is, but good LORD that's one of the best I've seen. I'm right with you in having a strong preference for NON-red cars & you seem to have great taste.
thank you, i was confused about the color, hence the blu sera/ chiaro thread. but i could not find any blues that matched. the car was sold by someone who was retired, and relocating, so i was not going to be a pest and ask him to crawl all over the car. the car is still dirty from the delivery truck arriving with it on Saturday. its been at a local gearheads dealership as his mech did the belt service on the car. today is the the first day i have driven and spent any time with the car. the t belts were almost 10 years old, and although they are not cracked, the tensioners were scary looking. i am so glad i did not give in to the peer pressure to drive it / let others drive when it was delivered. now the water pump, belts, tensioners, and valves are goos to go for another 5 years. note : (i am a 5 year guy, not a 3 year guy. 10 years on the belts was just insane!) thank you, i will post better pics when i have time to clean the car. it has a few dents that are going to require a pro to fix, but its a nice original car. AND ITS NOT RED !!!
yeah, too bad.that is proably a german Car,that is a beloved color in places that the sun dont shine.Seen it on GTC,365GT,BB and lots of 400. If it needs body work, paint I would cherry it out in black, but I like to show off on my paint jobs.Looking forward to your commentary on this euro vs sammie issue,I have NO doubt this is your best Car yet,FORZA
more pics, it looks * almost * black, no matter how i tweak the monitor ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
my last 308GTb was a black 77 carb car. its too hot here for a black car. repaints kill the value of the cars, and its a pet peeve of mine, so no paint work for me. good eye on the specs, the car was sold in Germany as far as i know, hence the shallow spoiler and the rear fog light. i may buy a euro deep valance for it later, i just freaking sold mine that i had in the shop for 2 years! oh well! cheers! pic of the carb 77 308 *21311*, and my geramn spec "special wishes " / euro 1984 911 Carrera. both have new owners, but i may buy back that 911, it was my fave! my current 911 is an 89 25th anniversary. ( black metallic) funny how this QV GTB and the 84 911 are so nice, and were German spec cars! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Michael I think it may have been a special order colour. BTW I just got my heritage certificate and Ferrari calls my colour Dino Blue not Chiaro Blue as I thought. You have good taste in 911's I also have a 1984 row model. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks great with the dark carpets and tan seats. The color is listed in Bluemel's book, so it's not a 'paint to sample' color. I suspect it's not something a dealer would have bought for inventory, so my hunch is that someone ordered it specifically. At any rate, it must be scarce. I've never seen a 308/328 in that color.
Comes pretty close to what I've got (which is an unknown-to-me color) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Blu Scuro was not a standard paint colour at the time your car was ordered and yes, it would have been specified by the person who orginally ordered the car. Jonathan
911's, and 308's go great together! i really like the black metallic on my current 911. black is too hot here, but the a/c actually works on my 911! Image Unavailable, Please Login
your dino is beautiful, i so love the clean lines of the euro cars, i would love to find a euro gt4! thanks for the reply, and feel free to post more pics of your car, i thinks its also blu scuro! i put my cars info in My Garage with Ferrari SPA. i know they no longer research the cars, but it would be nice if they share the build date / month. thanks, it would be nice to know who ordered the car originally. but i am certain that info is very hard to find now.
