For Spanish cusine..Tio-Pepe. Probably the best of the best in Baltimore.

Although all of the other recommendations above are good places to go.

fogo's food is great, but at least the DC location is pretty touristy and seemed to attract a lot of college kids who were devouring the all you can eat meat with copious amounts of booze. Fun for sure, but depends on the clients if that is the atmosphere you want on a business dinner.

Pazo is an awesome place. Love the atmosphere. I am not sure that would be the best place to take a client though. Now if this is going to be more of a night out, then a biz dinner, then it might be an option.

Another place that might be cool is the Camden Club. I went there once with my old company. It is in the warehouse at Camden Yards and over looks the stadium.

And for everyone recommending steak places, come on, this is Baltimore! Who has the best crab cakes?

Pazo has great ambiance, great for a drink but the tapas leave much to be desired.

Id say for the most memorable time of your gathering , go to Little Italy. Its nice to be able to walk off your dinner with a stroll to
    Vaccaros for a dessert .

Personally, I have eaten at and very much enjoy The Capital Grill and The Oregon Grill, in Hunt Valley. Both are dressy, excellent food and service, and the kind of place you take people to impress. DaMimmo's in Little Italy is also a great place. The Oregon Grill is out in the beautiful countryside to the north of Baltimore, but is very easy to get to from anywhere in the Baltimore area. Just my thoughts.

    Tio Pepe.

Get Pollo y Langosta, white Sangria, and finish with a Pine Nut Roll. Excellent every time.

Way over-rated. Chain restaurant food. Quantity does not equal quality. Thinking about all that meat makes me want to throw up.

the only place to really experience baltimore and excellent french cuisine is marticks' on the corner of tyson and mulberry. i can guarantee a unique evening. if you're eating in mobtown you need to try a deep fried hard crab or soft crabs prepared anyway. the best crab cake in town is at kocos' on harford rd.

There's always one that has to poop in the punchbowl.... thanks for the visual btw.... try not to think about all that meat coming at you. I'm sure it's just a bad dream.

So restaurants like Fogo and Flemmings.... suck? They're both chains..... interesting.

Angelina's on Harford Rd. They use sour cream instead of mayo in the crab cakes. To commit crime for! Schultz's on Old Eastern Ave. off Rt. 702 for really good seafood. They do a shrimp boil out of this world. Soft crabs, oh yeah! Ikoros in Greektown (Eastern Ave at 895) for excellent lamb and oven browns.

As the debate rages over which is the best...I'm wondering where Douglas ( the OP) did end up going and his opinion of the place??

No, but if I asked where to get a good burger in Chicago, I don't want to hear Outback! They may have a nice burger, but what about it makes it a Chicago thing?

There is a great pizza place in NYC -- you have to try it. It's fantastic. I think it's called Sbarro or something like that.

The OP wanted a Baltimore landmark / dining experience. Let's not send him to a chain restaurant.

As for all the meat coming at you .... you're on the wrong website. Plenty of those sites around though.

Gee that's funny I thought he asked for something local.... don't recall him asking for a baltimore landmark/dining EXPERIENCE.... you clearly have a solid grasp on what he meant and all things dining related.... good for you! Enjoy your meat!

    Time to revive this thread.

I am trying to think up a good place to go for my gf's bday on Friday. Looking for something semi casual and not terribly pricey with a nice atmosphere (no chains). Anyone have any ideas?
