just to be the contrarian, my wife hates all things car related. I have to beg her to even ride in one of my cars. She is still the best woman i know. The two aren't really related. on the bright side, i get to spend alot of time alone with my cars!

DAMN! You just took my exact post! :)

Most often, my quality car times are either at 6 am on a Sunday or 10 pm on a Wednesday/Thursday and there's no way in hell I would want her there, screaming at me to slow down anyway! ;)

So true...I wake up exceptionally early on a Sunday just to prep the cars and then take them out one by one. As far as the original post goes...I the end the Ferrari is cheaper and often times a better value. At 36 and married with my own business and my priorities set straight, for the most part I still get a SH&tload of grief for my love of cars.

almost a year now we've had the 308 and with things really tough, gas, elec bills, food and mortgage,I told her I hope I can hang on to the ferrari longer and I don't want to sell it,then all the sudden she now wants to go for rides and long trips,go to the coast and stay nights somewhere taking the ferrari,I think she's seeing that if the ferrari goes I'll be very sad and might blame her......lol............now she's even helping on cutting things back,:)

Reminds me of my ex-husband who complained that I loved my car more than him. My reply was "well it's more reliable..."

Sounds like her biological clock is ticking. Most girls could careless what car you drive if they have anything to offer. lol Sounds like she wants to get married. If you had no feelings for her oh well life goes on plenty fish in the sea.

Trust me - its harder for a female with a Ferrari!

My first husband was a petrolhead and we were mutually supportive of our love for the marque. One divorce, two engagements, one marriage and 18 years later as a young widow have only met one guy who had similar level of appreciation and an interest in F1. Unfortunately he lives 17,000 kms away and is 6 years younger!

if a chick ever hinted that I should sell my F40 or my race car or the Slutmobile I'd be hitting on the beautiful babies or flying somewhere to have a huge hooker party in about 2 seconds :)

I agree. However, when we were first married, we used to do the Sunday Morning Ride. It's a ride from Mill Valley out to Stinston Beach, starts at 8 am on Sunday, when there wasn't much traffic on the road. Done with the bike. I'd win that ride (it was actually a street race) two up on occassion. Sometimes we'd take a little risk or two on the way out to the beach. Never any complaints. Stopped doing that ride in the 80s.

Now, in the car, I get grief, claims that I'm giving her whiplash. So I don't go very fast with her in the car. Times change, I guess.

If you are like many of us on here, you have worked your arse off for the privelege of owning and driving your Ferrari. If any woman thinks she has anything to gain by berating, belittling, or just plain giving you s#)t about your car, she will soon find out that these objects have meanings to men way different and sometimes deeper than what she is "giving" you, regardless of how/what/why she perceives. Cut her loose, and never look back. Very few of these "situations" get better!

    It's not the car.

She wants to control you. The car is just a symbol.

If it wasn't the Ferrari, it would be some thing else.

That's right on: Control-freak tendencies showing up very early.

She's dumb; should've waited till she was pregnant.

Good you got rid of her when you did.

Good decision. If it hadn't been the Ferrari, it would have been skiing, or college football, or your mother, or your dog, or WHATEVER.

She'll be happier somewhere else and you'll be happier she's somewhere else.
