Did you need to replace the lip? Eventually, I will do the same thing - if you did, where did you get it and what was the cost?

Hey! - I have # 17 and with an aluminum front grill too - I haven't seen another SS with the aluminum grill. Do you know if that is standard?

I was looking at the skid plates for my SS on ebay and asked beforehand. The dealer said it wouldn't fit with the lip. If anyone finds ones that fit, I would love to hear about it.

Get under the car with some tracing paper, measuring equipment, etc.. Transfer the imprint you have made onto poster board. Go down to any shop that sells and fabricates plastics. They will make you a set out of polypropylene (Good), polyethylene (Better), or DELRIN (Best) for next to nothing. Alternately, you can go to any sheet metal shop and have them make a set out of aluminum. However, if you look at the original poster's front air dam damage, it appears to have been primarily caused when he backed away from the "curb", rather than by initially hitting it. So, a slippery material might be better for you 348 owners. Use a least four mounting holes (counter-sunk) per skid plate with stainless steel bolts, big washers, and nyloc nuts. If possible, you could also have a set of extra backing plates made and "sandwich" the front air dam fiberglass between the skid and backing plate for extra support and protection.

Well ... if this is s common and everybody has this happen ... we should have it mentioned within the 348 primer.
