And that is one car that I cannot wait to meet!!! My wording was a little funny in the post you are referencing, but your car is one of the special ones. I'm working on a couple others as well. JIM
For those still on the fence (and I know there are a couple) keep in mind that the discount for Harrah's expires tomorrow. After that, you can still register but you will pay Harrah's rack rate. Not sure what it will be but its significantly higher than the $119/nite group rate that I was able to secure. The link again is: http://www.harrahs.com/CheckGroupAvailability.do?propCode=GTU&groupCode=S103088 You can still register for the event up until Oct. 4th. (as long as I have them before the 7th!). Come one, come all. Lets drive our Ferraris! JIM
Jim, It was good to talk to you last night, the registration and check is in the mail. Joe, Gerard, and others in the south LA, AL , MS, need to have a meeting point so we can drive up as a group. I am really looking foward to putting a hand shake and a face with so many people here that I have talked to and posted with. Larry Fletcher CIS Flow Tech Llc. 251-929-3771
Joe, Gerard, and others in the south LA, AL , MS, need to have a meeting point so we can drive up as a group. I am really looking foward to putting a hand shake and a face with so many people here that I have talked to and posted with. Larry Fletcher CIS Flow Tech Llc. 251-929-3771[/QUOTE] Larry, Looks like I'll be heading up on Thursday the 9th, leaving the Biloxi/Gulfport area around 12-1pm. I'll take Hwy 49 North going thru Hattiesburg around 1:45-2pm and into Jackson around 3-3:30? Then I-55 north the rest of the way. If any of you guys from FL, AL or LA are looking at a route on these highways and similar times let me know and I'll adjust. I would think that most driving north will pass close to Jackson at some point in the trip. It should be easy to set a time window and a place to meet in Jackson before the final leg to Tunica? Perhaps some interstate exit north of the city around Canton to get out of the Jax traffic? Any of you guys up around Jackson have any suggestions? Joe
Joe, Why don't we meet in Hattisburg? I have to go that way out of Mobile. Gerard? Help? we need a meeting point in Hattisburg. Larry
Larry, We met at the convention center for the poker run a few months back which is on the NE corner of Hwy 49 and I-59. But if we meet there, you've got no facilites and it was hot standing out in the parking lot. I would suggest the Stuckey's on the SW corner of Hwy 49 and I-59 interchange. They are easy to spot from the highway and they have gas and bathrooms. You can also get one of those candy pecan logs if your parking brake don't work and you need to chock the wheels. I'm guessing I could be there around 1:30pm +- on the 9th. That keeps us on Hwy 49 for a straight shot up to Jackson. Just a suggestion. Joe
Sounds good as any to me, I'll file a missing person report on Gerard, and try to see if any Florida people want to meet there. Larry
Just incase anyone is coming from the North...I'll be heading out of Indiana sometime on Thursday morning. I'll head down to Indy, then take 70W to 57S to 55s to Memphis. If anyone is along this route and wants to meet up, let me know. I should have some time built in to stop if its not too far off the beaten path. JIM
One of the special things that we are doing for this event is a book signing. The idea behind this is that the owners who attend this show will have an opportunity to sign a VERY nice leather bound book indicating that they were here. It will contain their signature as well as their SN of their car. This book will be made available to the organizer(s) of other like shows so owners can do the same. A "travelling book" so to speak. When this book is filled, then it will be offered to be placed on display in one of many different places such as FNA, Ferrari Italy, dealerships, etc... Well, today it arrived in my hands and WOW is this nice. Special thanks to Tom Francis who helped secure this bad boy. Check out the pics. 22 plus I'm waiting on registration for another 5 cars out of Fla that are going to caravan in as a group. 16 of these cars will cover over 4,000 miles to get to the Casino for the weekend! JIM
I will be there. I have just been to busy with the storms in LA to book things but will be bringing 22991.
Keep an eye out for this screamer, just left for AL back to its eager owner. we broke the dyno tonight with a screwy 6919HP! pull I'll see if I can fly out, no promises Larry Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the true target is around 600hp... that 328 is another Huntsville car going to my friend that also has a TR, a Countach and a Diablo - BUT... it's not really a street machine. It reqiures 103 Octane gas, and has a racing on-off unmodulable clutch. On the other hand, MINE can be driven around town between track days, and I don't have to look for aviation fuel on the way to Memphis!
This IS going to be a lot of fun! We are working on some very cool stuff at the moment. Hopefully I'll announce soon. In the mean time, we are going to have a great Tech Session on Friday followed by a nice dinner and social time. Saturday's car show will have many great Ferraris for sure. For some added value, there has been some interest from the BMW, Fiat and Lambo clubs in attending the show in support. The plan is to park those cars in a "corrall" near the Ferraris so that attendees have the opportunity to view some additional 'special' cars that come out to the show. Of course only Ferraris will be judged by the attendees, but it will be fun to see some other cars in support of what the purpose is, which is to raise $$ for Habitat. For Saturday night, we have part of the sports bar reserved for our group to watch the F1 race. We will have those TV's in our area tuned to SPEED. Sunday is still somewhat up in the air and that is what is currently being worked on. Stay tuned! JIM
just checked the schedule on speed for the japanese gp. practice on thursday at midnight, qualy on friday and race on saturday nite. seems we should be able to watch it all and still leave sunday morning free for a good bye breakfast.
We have space reserved in Replay's Sports Bar to watch the race. I"m sure we can talk them into putting on qualifying and practice for us.
