I believe next Wed is the last week for the Bear Mountain Car Show on Wed. night. I'd guesstimate there were over 600 cars on the great lawn. Lots of Hot Rods, Vettes, modifieds, and muscle cars. Definitely worth going. Here's some shots from last Wed. night. Been meaning to check this out and next Wed. may be the time. Do you have know the show hours and the exact location? Thanks!
The show starts receiving cars about 5:00pm with the official open time (I believe) being 6:00pm. The cars keep rolling in until dark. Set your GPS for Bear Mountain Inn, NY. http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?q1=bear+mountain+inn%2C+new+york
Clyde, Are you heading up there this Wed. evening? Maybe we can meet up and head up together. For that one, I'd probably bring the Jaguar XKE rather than the Ferrari, but if we can get a couple of 3x8s to go, I would reconsider. Regards, Steve
Assuming no Rain Wed... I leave Wayne at 4:00pm, up 287N to 87E to Palisades Pkwy North, get me up there about 5:00pm I can easily change the route. Suggestions for meet-up? With the trouble from the popo recently, I'd suggest *not* the 1st gas station on the Palisades. Maybe the Sheraton at rt17/287/87 ??? And usually there are *lots* of bikes. I've counted over three hundred. But last week was maybe 100.
Jamison, you sure? I thought they told me one more night from last Wed. http://www.popyourhood.com/RodBendersHome.html this page says 2 more nights (presumably after 9/10) but in the rink parking lot. That would certainly be scaled back significantly.
I spoke to the rep at Bear Mtn. The larger shows are over for the year, but there are 2 smaller shows left, located in the upper lot this Wed and next.
Clyde, As it turns out, I can't go anyway. I have a client meeting that just came up. Enjoy, and would like to be joining you. Maybe next summer we can get that coordinated. Steve
Clyde, Where in relation to the original spot is the rink parking lot? Will be heading there around 5ish from work.
Since the big show is over, I'm out. But the ice skating rink is behind the carousel house & the main field. Pull into the carousel area & you'll see it. Room for 200 cars or so.
