Hey! Are you another female petrolhead?! Nice to meet you! I don't post much but for some reason I logged on today after ages away (see, I've been busy....racing).
The way I see it is the guys who are making the degrading comments about women have to have 1) the car, and 2) the girl (but definitely first the car, after all... "you can always get another girl") just to feel adequate. The poor darlings.

PS, go for the younger man :)

Oh, and ferrari sulla pellicola, you wouldn't last 2 seconds in my world.

Valeria did a good job driving my Ferraris, we had some great adventures in them......thanks for holding out hope, MMe ......

It's actually stupid to think anything material would cause you not to cherish your loved ones most, that's outright silly. I offered to liquidate all of my cars if it would have solved a few problems...you can always get more cars.

I'm resting, with my two chocolate chip cookies and a cup of fresh coffee, before leaving to take ice and water back to Houston.

    *big sigh*

    Thanks for posting!

You think different ages works best? We were both the same but as it hit 50 the wheels just fell off! LOL!
    Me, I feel fine...:D :D :D

BigTex, you are absolutely 100% correct. Some people simply believe that the cars are more important, and the cars get them what they want. I wish them the utmost happiness.
Just to clarify, in my case, if someone couldn't accommodate my hobby, or had issues with it, they probably weren't the right person to begin with. I once had a guy confess his "masculinity was threatened" because he didn't know what to do as he watched me install a seat in my car....this was just the tip of the iceberg of other issues (now there's a switch for you, he wanted to control me). Fast forward to 4 years ago when I met my now husband at the track. And I can tell you, several of my very good-looking girlfriends who drive/race are looking for like-minded men who have the confidence to date them. There is nothing sweeter than a shared day at the track followed by.......less mechanical activities :)

Eh....in a nutshell, I just don't understand why there need to be gender-specific roles in all this. Women with Ferraris want men who support/appreciate what they own/do, and guys with Ferraris want women who do the same.

Sorry to hear about your break-up. It was a good thing it happened so early in to the relationship though.

Perhaps you need to think about what things are important in your life. What interests must be apart of your life, what can you live without? Then find a girl who is on the same page. Owning a Ferrari is a "lifestyle" not all people appreciate. (OMG...What is wrong with them???)

Hopefully you won't date a girl with a Porsche and find out she constantly has to compare it to your Ferrari. Then criticizes your car all the time because your car turns more heads than hers! Then you start fighting the apples vs. oranges argument.
Don't ask me how I know this??!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, now I have to go thank my wife all over again. ;)

My wife is not a car person. Not even a little bit. The one time she tried to drive a manual she almost got us killed (A near-collision with an ox-cart. Honest.). But she has a very simple principle when it comes to tracking and racing: "Don't ask me to watch and I won't ask you to stop."

She and the kids actually showed up at the track one day right after I had stuffed my race car. I was feeling miserable, I had to convince my screaming daughter that I wasn't hurt, but my wife just said, "That's part of the game."

Of course, she was the one who suggested that perhaps driving a Ferrari on the track was incompatible with our financial situation, and that it might be wise to get something easier and cheaper to fix.

    What a woman.
