Schumi has said openly said that languages are not one of his strong points. But when he joined Ferrrari he was determined to learn Italian,he is now fluent.. There was no real need too learn as all of the team speak English.
Its funny, cause if you now listen to his English, there is a hint of an Italian accent in there...

    That's arguable :D

It took him a long time to learn Italian at a minimum level...and I wouldn't go as far as to say that he is fluent now. His Italian is OK (not half as good as his English though).

That being said, his actions speak for himself :)

Nice clip, and the car is growing on me (though I'll stick to cars with roofs myself).
If I may ask a question without hijacking the thread entirely...
In this vid, he refers to the 430 Scuderia and pronounces it SCOO-duh-REE-ah...
I've heard others, including native Italians say scoo-DARE-ya...
Which is the 'correct' pronunciation, or are both accepted?

    TIA

    I should know...I'm Italian :)

I'm not sure what you mean with the accent on the "ree" though.

At 0:12 you can hear the correct pronunciation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsH0Srx3XTs

Generally English speakers tend to "smooth out" the R when pronouncing Italian words. In Italian the R is much harsher. In English the R is pronounced "wr", whereas in Italian it's more like "rrrr". See what I'm saying? :D

However, when speaking English I adopt the English pronunciation of Italian words (even when it comes to my name) as using the Italian pronunciation may sound a little awkward (and vice versa).

...going slightly off topic here :D

I can't focus on listening, I'm too focused on looking at the narrator! She's beautiful.

Thanks for elaborating on the correct pronunciation.
