http://www.myspace.com/project500 all clickable banners forward you to the related band's page no crap on this page just worthy bands to which I have a more or less regular contact hope you'll enjoy it. Get new musical inspiration but don't add me greetz Helmut
Its because its supposedly 'cool' to have all sorts of useless apps and videos and crapola on a MS page. Facebook wins IMO but its simply user preference. I'm used to MS only because I've been using it sporadically since 03 or 04.
I have MySpace and Facebook and they both load slowly for me and annoy the crap outta me, but I keep in touch with some friends on both.
Hi I'm fine with my rock music band supporting page on Myspace. It works brilliant, getting a lot of unique site views and helps to get excellent band contacts and new musical inspiration. It's not fair to blame Myspace in general for numerous crap profiles. One can select a wide range of efficient account settings avoiding friend requests from underaged persons, group and event invitations, horny people etc etc. And if they come rarely thru, I simply block them and/or ask Myspace to kill their pages .... which already happened successfully What expect people providing too many private details, accepting a huge number of so-called friends to which they never would speak to in real life or fan-made band pages ? I take care of what I like to let other people know about me and I'm extremely strict who I add. As a result, I seldom get spam or unwanted requests. And I reduce the number of friends once a month to arise the quality of the remaining ones. Unfortunataly I can't use a high-speed internet connection and agree that many profiles took 3 or more minutes to load because people display animated slideshows, videos, useless world-maps or high-resolution pics on their page, or accepting HTML comments showing all that. Well, I simply click them off. Numerous bands of my choice already followed my technical assistance and advices to get their pages more attractive in different ways. I use Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox (FF), but the newest FF 3.0.1 version is definitively the better choice for uploading Myspace profiles. I also installed the free AD-blocker add-on. Facebook is a great choice to get in contact with school mates, colleagues and to find other people or being found, but due it never was my intension, I deleted my FB account and prefer Myspace Helmut http://www.myspace.com/project500
