Yes, yes I was finally able to get some substantial seat time in the Scuderia. But here is the thing. These cars cannot be compared. Although more extreme versions of their respective models........the two are as different as a 430 is to a 360. So its almost irrelevant to try to discuss each ones good or bad merits in relation to one another. The Scuderia is a marvel leaps and bounds ahead of the CS. And thats to be expected. It would be a disappointment if it were not. IT IS! As to whether one is worth x,y,z above the other. That too is a moot point. To people who are able to get one........it is. To people who are not, it isn't. End of story. In their own merits and "time(s)", they are the best that Ferrari has to offer. Which is something in its own right. Both cars are phenomenal. I look forward to driving each one and hope to enjoy both similarly as time goes on. My developing style in Ferraris is "raw". As "raw" as Ferrari makes them, both in the past, present and in the future. To those who have plans to acquire a CS.........or a Scuderia. You WILL NOT be disappointed! We are all so blessed to be able to even enjoy these cars...........especially in these tough economic times. As you can tell I'm reluctant to say which is better or worse...........on any level including the financial one. Each person has their own motivations. It would not be right for me to speculate on why someone else did this or that. For me, obviously I do think its worth it. The proof is in the pudding.
Kuzi, Will you lower the CS like you did with the Scud? What exactly did they replace for it to be lowered? And did they use OEM parts? Also, how many hours did they bill you to do the job? Did a Ferrari auth dealership do it? Does it void the warranty? Were you able to tell them exactly how much clearance you wanted? If so, how did you decide? Sorry for all the questions, but I've always wanted to ask, ever since I saw yours. It looks so good, I was thinking of doing it to mine, but mostly I am just curious as hell. Thank bro, DGS p.s. If there is already a thread about all this, just point me to it...
Hey DGS........the OEM ride height of the Scuderia coming into the US is higher then the stock suspension height of the CS. Prior to delivery, my Dealer lowered the Scud to original CS height. These cars come with coil-overs. So basically you just adjust each spring and then do an alignment and thats it. No extraneous parts needed. Total including alignment is around $1500. Well worth it to me as the wheel well gap in the 430 line-up drive me nuts. Come to think about it, even the 360 Modena sat too high. The CS was perfect in stance. Why the Scuderia didn't come from the Factory set up the way the CS was is beyond me. Hope that helps. Do you have your Scuderia already? Pics/?
Scud, no. I wish. I have a 360 Spider and concerning the ride height, was thinking the same thing. It was such a striking difference on yours, now I want to do it to mine. I wont get a Scud for awhile now with some of this new trading. Any extra money is going to be used to pick up some bargains in the market. But after reading your response, I will have them do it to the 360 when it goes in for the annual, I was going to have them put in the updated F1 pump also. Anyway, here is a picture of mine. Kuzi, Those 2 cars look amazing together! Enjoy them in good health. That Mercedes G in the first pics sure looks good
Thanks for the words Kuzi. I wasn't looking so much for a "this is better than that" analysis, just trying to figure out the differences between the two because it is interesting that you bought a CS again. I can understand what you mean about not being able to compare the two, though. Enjoy.
Great cars there Kuzi. *Note to self - Must work harder* BTW Enzo The Cat - How did you persuade the missus' to allow you to park your 360 in the kitchen?
Coming to the thread late, but wow -- great pics! Glad to see you figured out the white-balance issue on your camera! That pair is classic. How about adding the F40 for the trifecta -- that would be a stellar pic. Bringing the Scud out to Ronald McDonald house this Sat ?
Ah the "other" type of horsey. I'll be your #1 suspect if the Scuderia is missing on your return then LOL
DG, your garage is cleaner then my kitchen! lol Beautiful Spider. Reducing the wheel well gap will add a whole different dimension notwithstanding that it will look better
Great cars indeed Kuzi. Thanks for sharing those pics for us. I never knew you had such an incredible collection of F cars until I saw them on exotic car collections website a few weeks ago. Very impressive, definitely a collection I'd hope to have one day. By the way, do you still own the Carrera GT? I heard you were selling it before.
